Copper Kitchen had been trending on most of the platforms for it’s unique dishes that they were serving and this was one of the reasons why I had to visit Copper Kitchen. Located in HSR, this is one of the most visited places for their Andhra and Chettinad cuisine. We were here for dinner, the ambiance is normal, nothing unique, the service was fast and the food was a bit of a up and down roller coaster ride. We had the following dishes.
Nenjelumbu soup is a spicy mutton broth with traditional South Indian spices and muttons ribs. This was the best dish of the day, the taste of the soup was pure bliss.
Andhra Kodi Vepudu is Copper Kitchen’s take on Chicken Fry. With the right amount of spice mix and fried chicken this starter was sure a hit with our taste buds.
Fish Pollichathu is a fusion of Andhra and Kerala styles of cooking, we honestly were expecting a lot from this but were disappointed to know the masala tasted the same to what was used for the chicken starter. The fish was cooked well and was big, but was surely not worth the money or the taste.
For the main course we started with Chef Special Chicken Biryani, which is long grain basmati rice with masala and fried chicken. The quantity of the dish is massive, it is accompanied with raitha, eggs, and a few slices of fruits. The Biryani is a let down, the fried chicken was too hard, the masala was as good as red chilli paste which was used for the starter and many other dishes.
The last dish we had was the Special Kizhi Paratha. This dish was widely spoken off and made to go viral on every platform available and so we were excited to finally taste this. So much expectations and such a disappointment that we could not even finish a quarter of this dish. The same old red chilli masala, with paratha wrapped in a banana leaf with Chettinadu Chicken and Chicken 65. The fish, the chicken starter, the biryani and this all tasted the same and that was such a disappointment.
Copper Kitchen as a place has many dishes to offer and with such a wide variety of dishes one would hope for a tasty roller coaster ride but in reality this was a bit of a let down. The spices were repetitive and the meat was hard to chew on. There is a lot of room for improvement but at the moment I would say this place is not...
Read moreThe KLG (find us on insta at klg.blr) visited Copper Kitchen in HSR last week.
This is a large chain of meat focused restaurants run by Ahlan Foodpreneurs and with presence across multiple cities in TN, Pondy, Kerala and Karnataka.
The place was huge and well lit. There were tables available at 1pm, but there was a large waiting by 1.30pm - definitely indicates the popularity of the place amongst the office goers in the neighborhood.
The chicken & the mutton soups on offer were absolutely brilliant. Full of robustness and umami, these are kept simmering in a pot in the service area and served into a bowl on order.
The starters were a mixed bag. The Chettinad Prawn Thokku was excellent, the Madurai Uppu Kari decent, and the Gongura Chicken terrible (no gongura, same flavors as the other starters, dry and stringy chicken).
The murg chandni kabab was surprisingly good. We got a BBQ Fish (black snapper as per the staff), the fish itself was fresh and delicious, but the bbq masalas left a lot to be desired IMO.
The Kizhi parotas were nothing great - but had a lot of food in each portion. The "Tamil Kalyana biryani" they served was underwhelming, a bit dry and lacking the complexity of flavors.
Both the tender coconut pudding and the tender coconut falooda were good - so we left on a happy note.
Service was haphazard - with our food not coming on time and even the desserts coming maybe 15 mins after being ordered (and with a large bunch of folks waiting for tables).
Overall - this place was a mixed bag. But definitely popular with the office crowds out for a team lunch and so on!

Read moreCustomers have generally appreciated the restaurant's ambience and overall upkeep, noting that it creates a pleasant and welcoming environment. Many found the restaurant's vegetarian offerings to be satisfactory, with a variety of good options available to cater to different tastes. The pricing was considered reasonable, with many customers feeling that the quantity of food served justified the cost. The staff received positive feedback for being approachable and attentive, offering assistance when needed to help customers navigate the menu. The restaurant also earned praise for its diverse selection of non-vegetarian dishes, which added to the appeal for those looking for a broader range of meal choices.
However, there are several aspects that could be improved based on customer feedback. Some diners felt that the food quality did not meet their expectations, particularly with dishes like burnt paneer and flavorless mushrooms, which were not up to par. There were also instances where incorrect dishes were served, such as receiving prawns biryani when a paneer biryani was ordered, which led to confusion and disappointment. Additionally, the restaurant tends to get quite busy on weekends, and this high volume of customers often results in longer wait times, which can be frustrating for those looking for a quicker dining experience. Addressing these issues could improve the overall customer satisfaction and...
