I had very bitter experience with the owners of this bakery. I am a senior citizen lady aged 68 years. We had some small family function at home. Because of hike in Carona cases & since this "Iyengars" bakery was very near to our house, I gave an order to them (for Rs.3500/-) to prepare 3 varieties of Unde/Laddus, chakkuli... etc. They spoke very nicely & made friendly promises. But while delivering the items their behaviour was very rude. Regarding quality of items I feel much disgusted to write here. All Unde/Laddus were so hard that we could not break them either by using hammer; or by dipping them in water for 2 days (as per their instructions). Instead of using jaggery they had used edible gond to make Unde/laddus. Even oil used to fry chakkuli & others were also not of good quality... totally not suitable for eating. I took the items back to them to show, but they openly declared that they are purely profit minded; & harshly commented that I have not given them money for free. They silently took all items inside the shop without returning any money, not even telling an apology word. I honestly feel that this Bakery is not a place for ordering items for any functions.... Let them make profit, but not by cheating to this level & not from the hard earned...
Read moreBeware and think twice before ordering anything from this shop. They cheated my senior citizen lady family member who had ordered items for a family function. False promises made at the time of taking the order and money. No bill given. At the time of delivery of items, one of the staff was very rude to her and she was so upset because of the staff behaviour that she fell down and injured her hand outside the bakery.
The agony did not end with this. We soon realised that none of the ordered items were edible on the day of the function. We were unable to break the unde’s/ laddoos even with a hammer, forget consuming it. Very Cheap ingredients used. When we approached the staff politely over phone they asked us to boil the unde’s in water and see. They just don’t want to agree that the items were not prepared properly. Very rude staff. At least they should know how to speak to a senior citizen lady. They kept all the items that were returned to them (since they were not edible). They don’t even have the courtesy to get back to the customer with an apology or a refund. We only wish that no other senior citizen is treated or cheated...
Read moreThere was no decent bakery in our locality and this bakery filled the gap rather well.I have been an infrequent customer to this bakery since the day the bakery opened. I will think twice before I visit them now. Couple of weeks ago I visited them to buy some cakes. We were asked to sanitize our hands with the sanitizer kept in the door. I am all for it and it makes the place sterile. But the young guy behind the counter was not wearing any gloves and used his bare hands to help us with the order of honey cake. I politely asked him to wear gloves before serving, the guy snapped. He literally raised his voice to tell me that he will not touch the cake with his bare hands. I told him it is not a point to be discussed. When we as customers are expected to sanitize our hands(Im all ok for it), they should maintain the same attitude too. the worst part was the owner(the old man, not the middle aged guy) was standing near us looking at this without uttering a word. I think in these challenging times wearing a gloves should be mandatory and non-negotiable. I will definitely think twice before visiting the same...
