Masaledaar Desi Rasoi - RR Nagar — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Masaledaar is one of the newest addition to booming RR Nagar restaurant market. The place is beautifully decorated and reminds of a Rajasthani village setting. The outlet is of decent size and also have alfresco seating arrangements. The walls are again decorated with Rajasthai folklores. This is a pure veg restaurant.

We tried their Stuffed Mushroom Tikka and Malai Broccolli. The Stuffed Mushroom tikka was lightly spiced and served with masala onions and green chutney. The taste was amazing. The Malai Broccolli had a marination of curd, cream and cheese. The charred brocolli were topped with cheese once again. It was cooked to perfection. The Chinese Bhel was sweet and sour and just perfect for the taste buds. The Chesse Cigars were deep fried with a filling of cheese, chilli flakes etc. They were served with sweet chilli sauce and tasted amazing.

For mains we ordered the Veg Jalfrezi and the Dal Tadka. The Veg Jalfrezi had diced veggies like onion, tomato, beans, peas, capsicum, carrots and more. The taste was good but could have been better. The Dal Tadka was amazing in taste. The tadka on top was a game changer. We tried these with the Butter roti, Masala Kulcha. The Banjara Veg was made with different veggies which were messed together. The Veg Palao was flavourful and served with raita.

We went there on a Saturday. It was heavily crowded with a 30 min wait time.

The place is in a peaceful location on the double road. The ambience is pleasant and creates a relaxed feeling. Ambient lighting is well planned. Loved the ambience.

Service is excellent, polite and quick. Exactly how it should be in the hospitality industry. Staff are friendly and empathetic to the requests.

Food is okayish. I mean for the overall experience we had food turned out to be underwhelming. We placed order for a Manchow soup. It was okay. Less spiced. Subtle and not flavourful as it usually is. Then came the starter. We ordered a water chestnut in chilly plum sauce. It turned out to be sweet. The chilli flavour was so subtle it was never felt. For Maincourse, we ordered Veg Angara and Phulkas. The gravy was less salty. Not great. Just a normal gravy with underwhelming taste. Nothing Angara about it. The phulkas were soft and super comfy to eat. Loved them. They saved the day for the restaurant when it came to food.

Overall, a one time experience. The wait time and the food were cons for us. The ambience and service were the pros. Is it worth visiting? May be once. Just for the pleasant experience. Else there are so many options in RR Nagar that serve...
