I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Utse Kitchen, and I must say that it fell far short of my expectations. From the overpriced and bland food to the disappointingly small portions, my visit left me thoroughly unsatisfied. It is my sincere recommendation that you avoid this restaurant, as my encounter has proven the previous positive reviews to be utterly false. One of the dishes I ordered was the MoMo Combo. Despite the hype surrounding it, the momos were nothing more than flavorless doughy dumplings. They lacked any discernible taste and were devoid of the authentic flavors that one would expect from such a dish. Moreover, the portion size was alarmingly small, leaving me feeling cheated considering the exorbitant price they charged. Another dish that failed to impress was the Sukuti Chicken. It claimed to be a signature item on the menu, but it turned out to be a mere disappointment. The chicken was dry, tough, and lacked any depth of flavor, rather it was bitter-charred-charcoaly food. The accompanying spices and seasonings were barely noticeable, rendering the dish bland and unmemorable. Given the high price tag attached to this dish, I expected a much more satisfying and well-executed culinary experience. The promised blend of spices failed to come through, leaving me with a mundane and uninspiring taste. It was evident that the kitchen lacked the necessary expertise to deliver well-prepared and flavorful dishes. I was eager to try Korean delish; however, to my surprise, there were no Korean food, especially Kimbap. I asked the waiter why it wasn't in the list? He replied, "We do not have cook to prepare the dishes!" I was utterly disappointed as for Kimbap I travelled 13 KM in Bengaluru traffic. What truly left a bitter taste in my mouth was the realization that the previous positive reviews of Utse Kitchen were deceptive and misleading. It is disheartening to think that others may have fallen for the false promises and ended up wasting their hard-earned money on subpar food and underwhelming experiences. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to steer clear of this establishment. In conclusion, my visit to Utse Kitchen was marked by overpriced, bland food with disappointingly small portions. The MoMo Combo, Sukuti Chicken, and Shaphalay Chicken all fell short of expectations, lacking flavor, tenderness, and quality. I urge you to avoid this restaurant and explore other options that offer genuine culinary delights, as Utse Kitchen is a regrettable choice that left me thoroughly...
Read moreWe visited 'Commercial Street' last Sunday for some shopping and planned the visit in such a way that we could also explore a new eating place for lunch. Zomato came to the rescue and we stumbled upon 'Utse Kitchen', and were very tempted to try it as soon as we read that it specializes in Tibetan, Nepalese, Chinese and Asian food.
Utse Kitchen is located just 5 minutes walk from Westside at Kamraj road and it took us no time to reach there. To be honest, we were very skeptical while walking towards 'Utse Kitchen' as Kamraj road is otherwise not too famous for food and has a very rustic look and feel to it. But, we were definitely in for a big surprise as soon as we entered 'Utse Kitchen' through the beautiful door, reminiscent of China.
The place has a very beautiful decor and ambiance, a very good and happy feel to it with the natural lighting, bright colors, very comfortable and beautiful sofas and tables, Tibetan & Chinese artifacts, paintings. You can certainly vouch for the fact that interiors have been very done with a lot of love and detailing.
The food is awesomely delectable. We had their must try 'Momo Combo Set Meal' and I won't be exaggerating even a bit to say that 'Utse Kitchen' offers the best momos in town. They were finger licking yummy, oozing with freshness and flavors. On Chef's recommendation, we also tried the 'Everest Thali', which is one of their house specialty made up of a selection of traditional Nepalese dishes like Kalo Dal, Piru Alu, Hariyo Saag, Muli / Tamarar ka Achaar and Rice. The flavors were very close to Indian dishes, but still very different and exotic. We were tempted to try their Chinese delicacies as well and ordered the 'Chilly Garlic Noodles', which also turned out to be very good.
One caveat, all the orders at 'Utse Kitchen' are prepared and served fresh. Even the momos which are usually just steamed fresh at other places, you will find the chef preparing them from scratch and hence the freshness and great flavors. Thus service is slightly delayed, but you won't mind it once the food arrives and it is totally...
Read moreStumbled upon this cute cozy restaurant that serves the best Nepali & Tibetan food that’s actually pocket friendly and great portion sizes. Never would have imagined Commercial Street to have this restaurant with such authentic interiors and genuinely done art. Personally I’ve looked for good Nepali and Tibetan food everywhere in and around Bangalore - either some are below the mark of ticking all boxes or way above that fall in the fine dine category.
MUST ORDER IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN - WAI WAI SANDEKO , KATHMANDU CHILLI MOMOS , JHOL MOMOS , CHILLI GARLIC NOODLES, VEG THUPKA
The cherry on the top is their staff members, to be Particular it’s Soni. Soni is such a warm and kind boy with genuine service ethics and he goes above and beyond. It’s heartwarming to see his eyes light up every time we walk through the restaurant doors. Employees like Soni are very very hard to find and they are assets. I’ll be only visiting again and again because of the warmth and love we get from Soni, it feels like we r visiting a family member’s home for a hearty feel. Isn’t that also what north east as a destination also feels like ? Humble & Hearty.
Since my first visit, I’ve now visited this place over 3 times & KUDOS to the management. I wish you well and look forward to your presence in a locality that will value your...
