Ba-Dastoor - Authentic Royal Hyderabadi Cuisine (Kohe-Fiza) — Restaurant in Bhopal

We, a family of four, went Ba Dastoor expecting good ambience, good food, and good customer service.

Ba-Dastoor FAILED to deliver on all three.

Failure on Good Ambience: We were sitting in a cabin where the Carpet had a big fold raise right in the middle. The silvery 'dastarkhwan' too was not laid properly. ACs were not at 24 or below or even if they were, they didn't feel so and the restaurant became too crowded. One can distinctly see that Ba-Dastoor clearly doesn't know how to manage people. Sadly, with Charminar on their menu, Ba Dastoor 'must' learn the Hyderabadi customer management too, especially from Shadaab, Cafe Bahaar etc. The hand washing area didn't have the hand dryer working.

Failure on Good Food: We ordered BBQ Jumbo Platter. All that was advertised for the Rs. 1999 dish were not delivered in the first go. Upon pointing out, the waitress promised that they would deliver the stuffed kababs. The platter came after a ~50 min delay. The stuffed Kababs came when we were all done with the food. In this platter, Galawti Kababs were GOOD.Next we ordered Mutton Ghee Roast Mandi. Any Bengaluru restaurant will serve a better ghee roast than what was there in the Mandi. Having ate at Hyderabad's Mandi@36, I must say that the price was equally matched but the Mandi was not at all up to the mark. It gets good marks on the decoration but decoration content had too much potato in the form of French fries and Smiling Aloo tikiyas. Mandis have some dry fruits in them, which were conveniently replaced with Aaloo. Additionally, the meat didn't get the masalas penetrated into it so that also needs to be seen.

Failure on Good Customer Service: The staff was polite and was catering to a housefull restaurant. So, I can't blame them for lack of proper service delivery but the management needs to be wholeheartedly criticised. The staff is less, not adequately trained (the waitress clearly didn't have the practice to serve food), the Mandi came with the BBQ JUMBO Platter which means it was bound to wait before it's number in the queue would come for us to eat it. We kept looking for someone to cater to us but would found no one without waiting for five to 10 minutes atleast. We ordered two diet cokes which came after we were done eating all out food and have consumed the bottled water there. I don't know whether BA DASTOOR even have the option for us to ask for potable tap water. In the absence of someone to cater to us, we drank the water available. The service was so pathetic that even the bill was delayed and when we paid it using QR code, we ourselves were looking for someone who could see that we made the payment. :-). Eventually, we found the waitress who served us and shower her that we made the payment. Hehe. Guards in the parking were professionals.

Q: How likely am I to visit Ba Dastoor in the future? A: Least likely. Might not visit ever.

Q: How likely am I to recommend Ba Dastoor to my friends & family? A:...

It was my very first visit and I loved the place completely. I wasn't knowing that one should do booking before reaching out there and hence I have to wait for around 1.5 hours to get the table for two.

Coming to the ambience. You can feel that royalness and nice pleasant color schemes which really makes you happy.

The service was super fast maybe because both my order was a pre prepared preparation -

1. Appolo Fish

2. Hyderabad Chicken Biryani

3. I head this is a must try dish out there. The taste was above average. I guess if the fish get crispy and then put it in the tempering it would gives some next level taste for sure, next time I will customize it for sure if I order it. The chances are low but I would love to try this version.

The way it was kept on table suddenly from the captain...it was sssoooo goood, aromatic and steamy hot. What to say more the freshness of spices the tenderness of the meat I fall in love with it. Completely!

Must try it, you will get salan and raita accompaniment to it.

Raita was excellent. Salan - it was excellent as a gravy but being a chef I know it can be improvised.

Over-all I love biryani. A must have item when you go there!

Taste-O-meter - 9/10

By that time was completely full with the eating limits but the love for ba dastoor is yet to explore 💯

One Personal recommendation - If one gets pan at the end. It would be soo great. It will be full pack royal experience.

One of the rarest restaurant that ill treats its customer. Waiters poses themselves as "Restaurant-Manager" if you would simply request to meet the manager Moreover waiters and cashier are only concerned and if would enquire about "seating availability" or "how long your order might take?" Then they will simply ignore you and move to the next person.

Order takes forever to come out of kitchen and be placed on the table. And when the order is out, still side orders will be missing.

The funniest this is the so called "Manager" would still be missing from the floor... This place is taking undue advantage of its location and crowd pouring in to satisfy their hunger without the enjoying their meal or getting their much deserved attention or respect....

This is not the only negative review this place has...

Do visit if you want to have one of the worst experience in city...
