Being from South, I'm not exactly a fan of South Indian food, but this is simply one of the nice outlets for South Indian food. If you are looking for genuine South Indian flavor without much fancy touch.
The signature of this outlet is in the core, that is batter for idli and Dosa, the type of rise used is quite unique which is slightly varying from more traditional line but quite a efforts is put in to make Idli and dosa soft and fluffy.
The place also offers foods from other cousins, but I recommend trying South Indian.
Plus, the 2 traditional chutney at its finest make this place a quite must try. especially if you are a fan of takali Chutney (Tamil red spicy tomatoes bases chutney)
There are a variety of Dosa to pick. If you like spice, do try their mysore dosa.
Few things I wish this place has:
More outlet, it always crowded not easy to step in specially during weekends and I hope to see few more outlets.
Few more Southern items: It would be a really nice bit more improvement to mysore chutney. It's spice as needed but had a bit more expectations.
Please bring Filter coffee: I personally searched for this nectar for months, and it would be awesome if this outlet brings classical South Indian...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience with "Idli & More" and I feel compelled to share it to ensure others don't face the same frustration. I ordered an idli sambhar, and the estimated delivery time kept increasing. It took over an hour for the restaurant to even hand over my order to the delivery partner. When I called the delivery partner, he was also frustrated, as he'd been waiting at the restaurant for almost 40 minutes, and the waiting time was still being extended.
I decided to call the restaurant directly and was met with unprofessionalism and rudeness. The owner, misbehaved with me, disconnecting my call abruptly. When I tried to reach them again, they didn’t even bother answering the phone. This lack of respect for customers, along with the extreme delays, was truly unacceptable.
I highly recommend avoiding this place if you value your time, patience, and dignity. If you're craving South Indian food, there are many other establishments like Indian Coffee House, Sankalp or Manohar that offer much better food, service, and overall experience. Idli & More is not worth the trouble, and I will certainly never order...
Read moreStepping into this South Indian food spot was a pleasant surprise, especially for someone not initially keen on South Indian cuisine. The place offers a genuine taste without any unnecessary frills.
The variety of dosa options, including their outstanding fusion dosas, is a highlight. Personal favorites include the Peri peri paneer dosa, Mysore masala dosa, and Mendu vada. The Mumbai masala dosa, Mumbai tawa pulao, and Pao bhaji are also must-tries.
Having frequented this spot for over two years, I can attest to the consistent and delightful taste. However, the downside lies in the cramped seating during evenings. The limited space can lead to a wait for a table, making the overall experience a bit less enjoyable.
In summary, if you’re seeking an authentic South Indian experience without the fuss, this spot delivers on taste. Just be prepared for a potential wait due to the tight seating...
