Under The Mango Tree — Restaurant in Bhopal

Due to monsoon season the seating was inside a small room. All tables were occupied and there was hardly one meter gap between two tables. People at neighboring tables were so loud that we could hardly talk to each other. (It was snot due to people's noise, it was due to lesser distance between two tables. No music was being played, what we heard whole time was people's noise. No table cloth on our tables (atleast this is minimum what you expect from fine dining). We were 6 people and we were given a set of 3 tables (of size 2/2 each) which had different surface levels. So three unequal tables were joined. They had an old granite top. We felt very Claustrophobic. Food was very tasty except the chicken curry. This chicken curry was something they claimed from the royal household, but it tasted similar to a thin home made brown gravy with boiled chicken in it. Mocktails except basil flavored one were all just so regular. Overall the hotel is good but Under the mango tree was regretful. I am sure they have better space to accommodate...

A unique experience in Bhopal !!

Jehan Numa Palace is an awesome hotel, with beautiful location, atmosphere and the way it is maintained is commendable. They have maintained the feel of palace, even though it is converted into a 5 Star Hotel.

"Under the Mango Tree", as the name suggest, is a restaurant in Jehan Numa Palace under a big Mango Tree!! Food quality was good. We tried Palak Chilgoze ki Tikki, Palak aur Dahi Shorba, Kathal ki Biryani and every item was delicious. Prices are on a bit higher side, but its worth considering the food quality.

Overall, it was a memorable experience in Jehan Numa Palace. A must visit place in Bhopal.
