I was skeptical about the place as the reviews suggest quite a few people didn't like the food. But don't worry, I visited this place on 19th April and I can say for sure that they live up to the hype. Stay with me, it's going to be a detailed long review.
The ambience is great. Gives u that Arabic feel. We ordered Mutton Shorba, Arabian Special Fish, Chicken Mandi (BBQ + Alfaham) and Kaddu ka kheer.
The mutton shorba was nice, the spices were on point and it had small mutton chunks in it which were really soft. It's basically a mutton stew with whole spices in it.
The fish was mind blowing. It's a MUST TRY. Boneless, soft, batter fried and real good flavours. What else do we need? It might seem pricey but trust me the portion size is good for the price.
Then came the famous Mandi. It comes in 3 sizes - single, half and full. We ordered the half one which came with two big pieces of chicken and lots of rice. PRO TIP: Ask the waiter to get 2 differenlty flavoured pieces (We got BBQ and Alfaham in one). The quantity is awesome. Half size is good enough for 3 persons. The Mandi had subtle flavours, not spicy, slight hints of sweetness with the dry fruits and caramelized onions. Really liked it. The only thing is since the rice is spread out on a big plate it cools down quickly and becomes dry after some time. A cold drink helps with that. But the chicken was good. Very nicely grilled, soft on the inside and good flavours. Liked both bbq and Alfaham. Alfaham was a little better for my taste. The cucumber and carrot slices actually do help to break down the monotony when u are trying to finish this huge plate of rice and probably half of a whole chicken.
Kaddu ka kheer was also good. No complaints there. Will try Shahi tukda next time.
I have had great Mandi in Hyderabad at Mandi@36. And Arabikaas I would say is doing great. Overall we had a great time there. Everything was good. Service was good too. And it might seem a little bit pricey but the portion sizes justify it. And Mandis in Hyderabad are either similarly priced or more expensive. The bill for 2 of us was ₹1350. But we had 3 persons food. So more like 450-500 per person is a good estimate. So give this place a try....
Read moreI recently dined at Arabikaas, an Arabian restaurant located in Patia, Bhubaneswar, and I must say that the food exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Chicken Fried Wings Mandi and the Chicken Arabian Roast, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The food not only had great taste but also came in generous portions. For the quality and quantity of the food, I would give Arabikaas a solid 5-star rating.
However, while the food impressed me, I found the service to be somewhat lacking. The staff members appeared to be inexperienced and in need of further training. They seemed somewhat disorganized and lacked efficiency in handling the orders and requests of the customers. Therefore, I would rate the service at Arabikaas 3 out of 5.
Furthermore, one aspect that left a negative impression on me was that the staff members asked for tips without considering whether we were satisfied with their service or not. This is an unacceptable practice, as gratuity should be voluntary and based on the quality of service provided. It's important for the management to address this issue and ensure that their staff understands proper etiquette when it comes to receiving tips.
Despite these shortcomings in service, Arabikaas remains a good restaurant with a unique concept. The Arabian cuisine they offer is flavorful and satisfying. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant and adds to the overall dining experience. With some improvements in the training of the staff and a reevaluation of their tipping policy, Arabikaas has the potential to become an excellent establishment that not only serves great food but also provides exceptional service.
In conclusion, I highly recommend trying out Arabikaas for its delicious Chicken Fried Wings Mandi and Chicken Arabian Roast, as well as for its interesting concept. While the service may not be up to par at the moment, the food quality and quantity make up for it. I look forward to revisiting Arabikaas in the future, hoping to see improvements in their service and overall...
Read moreFirst of all food is really great. But our issue is with the service. We asked them about the menu so they told us to scan and have a look at the digital menu. We saw there was written 379 in most of the chicken item mandis, so we confirmed from the waiter about how many pieces of chicken we will get in the mandi, he told that u will get 2 pieces ( 1leg and other big piece). We then confirmed that is it the half mandi or full. He told us it is half for SINGLE. Then he also confirmed this and took the order and we ordered 3 mandis of it. 1 alfaham and 1 BBQ. But then after watching the quantity we doubted a bit whether its full or half and in the result of that we couldn't it that amount. Finally when he handed us the bill, we were completely shocked because according to the digital menu, it should have been 379+379 which is equals to 760 and after adding taxes it could have been easily below 850. But the bill came out to be 1300. So we asked the same waiter why is it show, coz we saw other amount and confirmed it from u that its half before ordering then why it is 500 more. He then giving a soft smile told that I have told us that I have told u single not half but in the bill it was clearly mentioned (half). He then told us that it was our misunderstanding to make his mistake forgettable as he didn't tell us properly. We can't argue more with that guy as we came for the lunch during office hours. So this was all our experience. So plz be careful with what they show and what they tell. Pure difference...
