Where do I even begin? And I'm telling this from a very recent experience, and to mind you, the place wasn't too crowded, and neither was it the weekend, it was an easily manageable crowd. Still, go through the entire review for the full picture. Thanks in advance!
Ok, at first,
The system for placing the order of your food. They'll give you a piece of paper, along with the menu, and then, you're supposed to correctly write your own order in a good handwriting, because any misinterpretation they do on their end, won't be their fault, it'll be yours.
The servers won't even come to collect to that paper, you will most probably run our of patience and might have to go and give it to them yourself. So, you won't like it. And it feels like you're kind of on your own, and not made to feel welcomed or something. Don't expect that.
Now, once you have placed your order, considering their very limited range of food items, that to be honest, more or less have the same kind of taste, they take an awful lot of time. There are hardly 60-65 items on the entire menu ( picture is attached ) that too, not something to look forward to.
Now comes the most unexpected and to be honest, awful part, when you have placed an order, like if you are two people, or more, and you all have ordered different kind of dishes, for example, Paranthas of different kind, there is this guy, who serves, named 'Kana' , if you're unfortunate enough, he'll come to your service, and will for sure end up messing whatever you have ordered. He'll deliver it to you by saying another thing, and after 10 mins he will come and say, that was some other stuff.
NOT A FAN OF THAT GUY. TO BE HONEST, THEY LOST THE LAST FEW STARS TO THAT.
The sitting arrangement is below average considering the not so humble pricing they have for their products. (See attachments)
The WASHROOM, is at par with what you get to see at the lowest of Railway Stations, not kidding. ( See the attached pictures)
Now, the FOOD, well, not IMPRESSED. At all. Had a range of items, it was not much different from what they give in Hostel mess to be honest.
Then, after service, the bill doesn't come to your table or anything, you have to get up, go to the billing desk, and then clear it yourself. You do have a couple of payment options though, including PayTM and Card ( I think so) .
I have had an experience of getting their food home delivered one other time as well, a couple of weeks back, well, the food was the same, not impressive, and they also charge ₹20 extra even when you have already made an order of ₹300 or more. Well, don't know what to say about that. Considering the distance was hardly about a kilometre.
Of all the items I had there, water made me feel better than the most. Not kidding. It was laughable at the least. Considering how amateur and unprofessional they were at what they were doing.
So, one word conclusion : SKIP-IT
DON'T GO.

Read moreMarwari Rasoi used be a great place when they had the restaurant near KIIT University. The new location which is near Infosys doesn't have the ambience of a typical Marwari style, not the huge menu they had.
The menu earlier used to have lot of snacks and good number of items on their lunch and dinner menu. The menu has shrink quite drastically.
They used to have unique way of taking order, where the customers used to write down their own order. Now in the relocated restaurant it doesn't happen so. I felt more engaged when I write down my own order.
Had a brief conversation with the owner last time I visited, and explained what I felt missing. Though he mentioned they are working in them, I have my own apprehensions.
Let's hope the restaurant regain its old aura. I will give it a chance some months later, because it deserves our support.
Until then...
