While few words wouldn’t do much to justify the full ratings, a visit stands must to gain an unforgettable experience!
While we have long wishlisted this cafe, our visit was worth our wait, as every aspect right from the vibe, food & service was simply outstanding.
You are greeted to a vibe that combines your childhood memories of your grandparents house/courtyard, which has blended flawlessly into our todays! Such is the tastefully restored & maintained ambience that this cafe offers.
The service is commendable, & the staff are always available, you just need to look around and you are instantly attended with a smile full of courteousness.
Coming to food, the menu is well-curated, & lists cafe delicacies unlike most others in bbsr which are a hybrid of cafe, restaurant & god knows what.
We had Grilled Fish in Cilantro Sauce, Grilled Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce, Chicken Scotch Eggs, Three Cheese Stuffed Mushroom & Pan Cakes and accompanied it with Frappe, Blue Paradise, Americano, Lemon Iced Tea for drinks. Each of the dishes were damn delicious, in decent quantity & well presented. We loved the food so much that we even went for a second serving of some items.
The service was fast, & pricing is VFM.
The place is a must-visit for those looking for a great vibe, good Instaworthy ambience & great food. For those who won’t spare a quick read, you also have a good collection of books to choose from.
We had a brief chat with the owner of this place, she’s very courteous and personally checks on each of the guests to ensure you have a great time!! Its always encouraging when you get to hear stories associated with beautiful places like this, that makes your visit even more worthier.

Read moreMy recent experience at this café, which ironically brands itself as a cozy and welcoming space for all, has left me appalled and deeply upset. Despite being a public place often showcased on social media as a haven for couples and group of friends to chill, we were abruptly told that displays of affection—even gestures like a kiss—are not acceptable there. As a newly married couple, trying to nurture our relationship, we found this intrusion invasive, humiliating, and frankly bewildering in a country where such expressions of love are legally permissible. What’s worse, my husband was singled out and spoken to separately, singling us out and leaving us feeling targeted in an environment supposedly meant for comfort and connection. It’s quite ironic, given that the café’s own Instagram is filled with pictures of couples, portraying an image that clearly doesn’t align with how they actually treat their patrons. Apart from this distressing incident, the practical realities of the café leave much to be desired: there’s no parking, the food is the same old, no new dishes at best, and if you’re planning to smoke, bring your own supplies, that's the best you can do to spend some time. (Have to mention that the staff is extremely humble and sweet). Frankly, a visit to a street vendor might be a safer bet, even if it comes with some digestive risk. At least you’d avoid the embarrassment of being policed for simply being a couple. For those seeking a truly welcoming spot for quality time with their partner, I’d recommend...
Read moreFabulous. All the reviews about this New Gem in Old Town are true. You need to see it to believe it. It perfectly blends not only its coffee but also the Old with the New. Went for an evening get-together with my school friends. I was definitely awestruck by the efforts taken to preserve the history and the culture. A perfect place for families and friends to just spend some quality time together.
Coming to the cafe basics, everything is a double tick in green. We ordered Masala Tea, Cappuccino, Cold Coffee and Classic Mojito. So good was the taste that we ended up ordering a Round-2 for the drinks. Moving on to the food, the Butter Garlic Prawns are a must try and the Pizza is deliciously Cheesy!! Stuffed mushroom was tasty as well and the Chicken Steak was cooked to perfection. The biggest plus is the fact that the portions are huge for the price they are charging. There's Burgers and Sandwiches and Pastas in the menu as well. And I will be going back to try them all.
The staff is young and a bit fresh in the oven. However, I have full faith that they will season well. A big thumbs up to the Full Team and a special round of applause to the Owner for the thought process and the execution! Keep it up, Old Town Cafe. You have a...
