Absolute Worst Veg Biryani Scam – DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

If you're thinking of ordering veg biryani from this restaurant, let me stop you right there — DON’T DO IT. This place isn’t just bad, it’s an outright biryani fraud. What they served in the name of “veg biryani” was not just a culinary disaster, it was a full-blown scam.

Let’s start with the so-called “biryani” they delivered. First of all, there was nothing biryani about it. It was just bland, yellow-colored rice mixed with undercooked vegetables. No aroma, no layers of flavor, no proper masala — absolutely nothing that defines a real biryani. It looked like someone just tossed rice, frozen veggies, and food coloring into a box and sent it out as an afterthought.

The rice was dry, clumpy, and stale — clearly not made fresh. The texture screamed "yesterday’s leftovers microwaved badly." As for the vegetables, they were barely even cooked. Hard carrots, chewy peas, and what looked like half-boiled potatoes that were still raw in the middle. Forget taste — even the appearance was enough to make you lose your appetite.

There was no spice, no richness, no aroma — just dull, flavorless, greasy rice with chunks of disappointment. If you've ever had proper veg biryani before, this will hurt your soul. It felt like an insult to Indian cuisine.

Now let’s talk about the accompaniments. The raita was sour and warm, clearly spoiled and unfit for consumption. The "salad" was literally a few slices of slimy onion in a dirty plastic pouch — not even covered or sealed properly. And the “gravy” was some kind of weird yellow water with a strange smell that honestly made me question if it was even food-safe.

And guess what? All of this horror was overpriced. They had the audacity to charge premium restaurant rates for something that looked and tasted like a college hostel reject meal. Zero quality, zero hygiene, and zero sense of responsibility.

When I contacted the restaurant to complain, their response was even worse. Rude, arrogant staff who basically said, “This is what we serve. Take it or leave it.” No apology, no refund, not even a basic sense of courtesy. It's clear they know what they're doing — cheating customers and getting away with it.

I felt sick after a few bites and had to throw the entire thing away. A complete waste of money, time, and trust. I wouldn’t wish this...

🌟 1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Experience! Never ordering again.

I had one of the worst food experiences today after ordering from Annapurna Veg Restaurant (Baguiati) through Zomato. Here's why:

🔴 Veg Biryani – What a joke! It was nothing but bland, oily, yellow-colored rice with a few undercooked vegetables thrown in. Absolutely no aroma, no taste, and definitely not even close to what anyone could call biryani. Totally tasteless and dry!

🔴 Veg Fried Rice – Soggy, cold, and loaded with oil. The rice was overcooked and sticky, and it seemed like it had been made hours ago and just reheated carelessly. Not even salt was balanced properly. It felt like eating a pile of mush.

🔴 Veg Manchurian – Disgusting! The balls were rubbery and the gravy was overly salty, synthetic in taste, and had a strange sourness that made it inedible. Looked and tasted like it was made from leftovers.

The entire meal was a waste of money, time, and appetite. I feel cheated and disappointed. This is not just poor food—it’s unacceptable.

If you care about your stomach and your money, stay far away from this place. Zomato seriously needs to review quality control for such pathetic...

Ordered pure vegetarian dinner from Annapurna.

Plain Paratha x 2 @ Rs.30 Home made very basic bengali style triangle paratha. But Rs.15 each is unjustified.

Palak Paneer @ Rs.210 (3/5) Too much kasuri methi was used. Kasuri methi goes well in Tadka but not really in Palak Paneer. Good part multiple pieces of big paneer were present. Taste was average. But I took half plate that is only 250ml for Rs.120.

Mushroom Chilli @ Rs.150 (3/5) Coating around the small mushrooms were very thick. Full with green capsicums and big onions. Tasted bit too sour bit too salty hence the flavour of mushroom went silent. Portion was only 500ml.

Their food quality is not bad rather very ordinary, I won't complain about quality. But the quantity they deliver for the price they charge even after huge discounts it can't be called value for money. That's the onlt reason I won't order...
