Angeethi Restaurant & Banquet Hall — Restaurant in Bihar

This is the worst restaurant I have had the privilege of visiting in Patna (actually anywhere else, for that matter!). The service here is so slow that you could feel time flowing backwards for you. The food is so bad that a govt run canteen might put it to shame. The atmosphere is, well, almost like that on the most violent volcano on Venus. This restaurant is THE example of Sod's law. We (6 adults and a kid) had to leave the restaurant half hungry, with a bill of 3800 INR only. The staff there seem tone-deaf to the customers' calls, and you can hear them abusing and making fun of other customers if you are seated at the right place inside. The music inside, hurt my head real bad, almost to the point of giving an anxiety attack. There was no air conditioning inside. I had to give a written application for requesting a few spoons. There was no pickled onion and/or lime available on the table, which even the simple dhabas provide. The rotis were so cold and elastic that I convinced myself I was participating in a chewing-gum eating competition. I found myself silently praising the cook for applying awesome quantity of imaginary butter on the butter roti. Overall, this restaurant is full of dirty surprises. Just when you start to think you have seen the true lowest, they will shock you with something even worse! A big down-Angootha to Angeethi. Shame on you people. Although the service was a little slow, the food was good and overall experience was 5/5. That was until I got the bill. They're trying to upcharge 95% on MRP of packaged products. I was told MRP might be whatever it doesn't matter. I told them I had no issues paying the upcharge, just mention on the bill what the actual MRP is and the extra charges added. After which they had a discussion amongst themselves and removed the extra charges.

A complete dishonest practice, if what is being charged is genuine and not some shady practice then there should be no issues in mentioning the numbers. They too know that if they give proof that they are overcharging above MRP they can get in quite a bit of legal troubles. This is a family run restaurant that simply has terrific allfood and attentive service. I have never been disappointed by a meal there. The prices are not outrageous and definitely within reason for the amount of food you get. Every meal comes with a warm service- a little pot of accompaniment with a basket of rolls, and also a bread basket that includes amazing mocktail. The servings are substantial, and the desserts are terrific as well. There is sometimes a wait during the season, but they have a comfortable lounge area upstairs, or a cute Radhe Krishna jewealors shop downstairs so you are not just standing in the doorway waiting for your table.
