We were visiting town, and decided to visit this place for a special occasion with our family. In hindsight, it was a completely wrong decision and we should’ve chosen someplace else. Although the ambience was good, everything else was just horrible. The 1 star in my review is just for the ambience and for some courteous staff. We scanned through the menu which looked interesting, however when we were placing the order more than 70% of the items weren’t available 🤦🏻‍♂️ This was the first disappointment, although the menu was quite expansive. Later we decided to ask the server what all is available and placed an order only from these few available items!! We ended up ordering Chicken Lollipop, French fries and Alfredo Penne Pasta (apparently they couldn’t make Alfredo pasta with Spaghetti, as Spaghetti was only available with Aglio Olio!!! Not sure how difficult it is to use the spaghetti in the Alfredo sauce instead of the Penne, however the server seemed very reluctant to do so) for kids and some Manchow soup with Paneer Chilly, Wheat Roti, Chicken Boti and Mushroom do pyaaza for us adults. We had given specific instructions to prepare the chicken lollipop less spicy and the Alfredo pasta without any veggies without any olives or any dressing and even after clear instructions, both the items were exactly opposite!! The lollipop was spicy and the Alfredo Penne also had all veggies plus and additional surprise 😳 of human hair 🤢🤮 We immediately returned the Pasta and asked them to prepare a new one and again gave clear instructions of preparing it without any veggies or any other garnishes (second time this instructions were given). So this delayed the kids order significantly and after almost 15 minutes we received the Pasta and to our surprise it was again with the veggies even after repetitive clear instructions! After some tantrum from our side they immediately removed the veggies and brought the Pasta once again (3 rd time) causing further delays in our kids’ meal!! Thankfully without any veggies or any other unwanted stuff this time. The adult meals ordered weren’t great either, as both the Mushroom do pyaaza and Chciken Boti had exactly the same curry and not worth the price at all. Overall it was an extremely disappointing experience for our special occasion and horrible experience with food. Never ever going to this place again. Even with all this, the bill was quite expensive and totally not worth it. Better to choose any other restaurant for dining. Food - Zero Stars Ambience - ⭐️ Value for money - Zero stars Staff - ⭐️ Although corteous and polite, they didn’t seem to bother much with all the issues we faced and the feedback we...

Yes, if you are rich and looking for fancy food items with great ambiance then the cookbook cafe is the place for you. I went with my mom and the first thing which I thoroughly liked about the place was the decoration and the light, so good for the eyes. An absolute beauty with great materialistic design. Now comes the food part. We ordered: Smoked Chicken Pizza Chilly Garlic Prawns Drums of Heaven Yes, we ended up enjoying the starter only. Apart from the ambiance, one thing which caught our attraction was the placard where it mentioned 'We don't take TIP' and for me, it took a few seconds to digest. Honestly, the food was yum and especially we took the risk of ordering Prawns which I think in most of the Patna's restaurants are not good enough or even cook enough to eat but here in cookbook cafe, the taste was deadly delicious. Even the drums of heaven were tasty like anything.

Now comes the billing part. In cookbook cafe, they don't have the concept of the paper menu which is good and they will provide you a scanner page, where you just need to scan the QR code and order from there. When the bill arrived, I was utter calm that there will be no TIP giving process. BUT, here comes the twist. As usual, they charge for SGST(2.5%), CGST(2.5%), and Service Charge of 5%. Yes, that's the game. I am not sure about the reason but this 5% equals the CGST and SGST together. With this only, I got little disappointment with the place. I hope in the future, either they will remove it or reduce it but 5% is a big number for the service charge. And I am not even sure, whether the hotels/restaurants should charge an extra service charge, for the fact that they already taking CGST and SGST.

To conclude, the food was amazing, the same goes for the place but for me, it was expensive excluding the extra service...

I recently dined at Cookbook in Patna and had a mixed experience in terms of food. While the ambience was well-designed and inviting, the food quality was inconsistent.

Food Experience:

We started with their pizza, hoping for a flavorful and satisfying bite, but unfortunately, it fell flat. The base was clearly ready-made, lacking the freshness and crispness of a well-prepared dough. It felt more like a store-bought crust rather than something crafted in-house. The cheese didn’t taste great either—it lacked the rich, creamy texture that makes a pizza indulgent. The overall flavor profile was bland, making it a rather forgettable dish.

Next, we tried the pan-stirred fried noodles with black bean sauce, and this turned out to be the saving grace of the meal. The spice level was just right, and the flavors were bold, making it a one-time try if you enjoy Asian-inspired dishes. The noodles had a good texture, and the sauce was well-balanced, giving it a nice kick.

Ambience & Service:

One of the best aspects of Cookbook is its ambience. The interiors are tastefully done, creating a cozy and aesthetically pleasing space to dine in. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a place to hang out with friends, the atmosphere is definitely a plus.

The service was decent, though nothing exceptional. The staff was polite, but there wasn’t any standout attentiveness that would elevate the experience.

Final Verdict:

If you’re visiting Cookbook, I’d recommend skipping the pizza as it doesn’t deliver on taste or quality. However, the noodles with black bean sauce are a decent option if you enjoy spicy flavors. The ambience makes it a nice spot to visit, but in terms of food, it could definitely improve.

Rating: ☆☆ (2.5/5) Would I visit again? Maybe, but definitely not...

Honestly, my disappointment is difficult to even put into words. As someone who has consistently chosen your restaurant over countless others, enthusiastically recommending it to friends and family, my recent experience felt like a slap in the face. When I placed my order, I had a certain expectation of quality, a standard I'd come to rely on. What arrived at my doorstep, however, was an absolute travesty. To call that... thing a pizza is an insult to the very concept of pizza. It was a horrifyingly soggy disc, cold to the touch as if it had been sitting out for hours, and misshapen into this pathetic half-moon. It wasn't just unappetizing; it was genuinely repulsive. The texture was slimy, the toppings looked carelessly thrown on, and the overall impression was one of utter disregard. Frankly, this isn't some fly-by-night operation; this is a supposed brand, one that cultivates an image of quality and reliability. To be served something so utterly substandard, so carelessly and shoddily prepared, is not just disappointing – it's deeply frustrating and frankly, offensive. I invested my money, not to mention my anticipation for a decent meal, only to be met with this inedible garbage. My evening was ruined, my trust in your brand shattered. I don't just want a cursory reply; I demand a response that truly acknowledges the sheer awfulness of this experience. I need to understand how such a monumental failure in quality control could occur, and more importantly, I need to know precisely what you intend to do to rectify this egregious situation. This isn't a minor inconvenience; this was a truly terrible experience, and I expect to hear back from you immediately with a concrete plan to address this. My loyalty deserves better than this.
