Let me start with the most outrageous part of my experience—water. Yes, water! Imagine walking into a restaurant, sitting down, and realizing that even something as basic as water comes with a ₹60 price tag per bottle. And no, this wasn’t mentioned upfront. There was no option for normal water, and we were essentially forced to accept overpriced bottled water. To make matters worse, the water bill wasn’t even included in the main bill but processed separately on a personal account. Honestly, if they could, I’m sure they’d find a way to charge for the air we breathe too.
Now, let’s talk about the rest of the experience. You should only visit if your budget is reasonable. However, if your budget doesn't justify a poor experience, then avoid this place even if you can afford it—it won't be worth it. Your money will feel wasted.
Firstly, the lift is so small that it can't accommodate more than three people, and it's quite old—you never know when it might get stuck. Upon entering the restaurant, there's a bar that immediately ruins the mood. The chairs were also not impressive; they were basic wooden chairs with cushions, offering no luxurious feel.
It was my friend's birthday that day, and we assumed we could get a cake there, but they didn't have one. When we spoke to the staff, they offered to get one from outside but charged 2.5 times the standard price. Despite having a dessert section on the menu with three cake varieties listed, they weren't serving any desserts or taking orders for them.
Suppressing my frustration, I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and Lachha Paratha. Even the paratha was priced at twice the market standard. The main course took more than 30 minutes to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. The staff seemed indifferent, as if they didn't care about customer experience. The food was just okay—nothing exceptional—and the paneer dish was overly oily.
After finishing the meal with considerable patience, I had to wait over 10 minutes just to get a hand-wash bowl. There was no clear distinction between staff and customers since there was no separate dress code for the waiters.
Overall, my experience was terrible, and I will never visit this restaurant again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. My rating is -8/10. Worst restaurant in Patna. Also, the interior still had Christmas decorations, despite my visit being on January 5th.
Here are a few things you can improve, according to me: Improve interior design and lighting. Provide better chairs. Soundproof the space to avoid echoing issues. Train staff to give equal time and attention to all customers. Implement a staff dress code. Stop charging for water. Never offer mineral water without informing customers about the high cost. Speed up your service to reduce waiting time.
Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience, and I genuinely hope the management takes these...
Read moreWe went as a group of five for lunch. Right off the start the staff was condescending and dismissive. The soups and salad were fine, but everything else went south. One person in the group had dietary restrictions (gluten). The server was asked if it was added to a dish, and he dismissed the question. We kept asking to confirm with the chef at least 3-4 times and he refused every time, instead repeating that the said ingredient was not present. The food came, it seemed off, we begged 2-3 times again, and he finally asked the chef. Guess what - there was "some" maida mixed. This thing repeated with another dish and another server, who refused to ask the chef until we refused to eat the dish and asked to send it back. Guess what again - there was maida involved there as well. Despite all of this, their attitude remained awful, like they did not want us there. Also, service was slow - despite the place being practically empty at the time. All the subsequent dishes were substandard - very highly salted to the point that it was difficult to eat. The wait staff was called again, and they dismissed us (again), saying that that fish is supposed to be salty. When the food was sent to the chef to taste (after a lot of arguing - you can see a pattern in the behaviour), we were told that the chef tasted it and it seemed fine to him. So you see, the problem with Indie Kulture goes beyond food. It is the condescending attitude, their not being ready to accept responsibility for any shortcomings, and no respect or consideration for their guests. PS: My rating is not influenced by the PATHETIC state of the washroom (not cleaned in ages, urine stains all over the seat, and taps that don't work, plus no soap). And them not turning on backup power supply during a power cut, leaving guests without air conditioning and lighting for at least 15-20 minutes, until we asked for it.
All in all: it was pretty much a disaster. We paid over 1k per person (after the 10% discount they gave), and the food and service were just NOT worth it. Just left a bad taste in the mouth (literally and figuratively).
Seriously, the valet parking guy was the best thing about the place - he was nice and polite, and above all, knew how...
Read moreUpdate 07-12-2022: The quality of food has gone down. The last time we were here as well as today too. The fish we ordered smelled and the taste too was below par. Other items were bearable. When we asked the server about the portion size of their rice, he misguided us by saying that the portion is small, hardly enough for 1 person so we ordered 2, whereas the actual portion size was more than enough for two. The overall service too has gone down drastically. The last time we had thought that it was due to the Sunday rush and pressure but today the restaurant was hardly 60% occupied and there were enough people servers available but still the service lacked. It's as simple as the fact that when you pay Rs. 120 for a litre of water that's already been kept on your table even before you arrive, you expect that when the bottle goes empty, you would at least be asked about more water. Same goes for table service too.
Ordered this one after checking with the server. Liked the combination but when he put the mocktail on the table, I dreaded taking even a sip. Unexpectedly, this was an amazing drink. Loved the presentation, the small shot glass with the berries and mint along with the whole slush kind of feel was completely different from what I had thought it to be.
We had a couple of other things too, including Chicken Chilli, A variety of mutton, veg starter platter and the overall experience was brilliant. Every bit of the food was really good. For those who do not eat mutton outside their home like me, I would suggest to try this one. We had Chocolate Cheese cake for dessert 🍰 as well as Guava Blast in mocktail and like all the other dishes, everything was a delight.
There was a very small situation for a small request we made to alter a recipe to suit some one in our group which might have been a 100% misunderstanding and we all thought it to be a small thing considering the overall experience as well as the rush
