🌟 Biryani Mahal, Kankarbagh – A Royal Relaunched Spot for Mughlai Cravings
⭐ Rating: 5/5
🪑 Ambience & Interiors
Step into Biryani Mahal’s new outlet in Kankarbagh and you're instantly greeted by a lavish, well-lit, and inviting space. The chandeliers, patterned ceilings, floral décor, and ambient lighting give the restaurant a festive and family-friendly vibe. With spacious seating, cool air-conditioning, and polished furniture, it’s perfect for both casual dinners and small celebrations. The balloon decorations hint at recent events or a grand opening feel.
🍽️ Food Experience
Chicken Biryani: Fluffy, aromatic basmati rice with tender chicken pieces. However, the presence of a large potato might feel like filler for Kolkata Biryani, a common Patna-style trait. Flavors are subtly spiced – good for family tastes.
Tandoori Chicken: Char-grilled to perfection with a smoky, juicy texture. A definite highlight — well-marinated and served with fresh onion-lime salad and mint chutney.
Chicken Tikka: This was a show-stealer! Well-marinated, mildly spicy, and nicely grilled. Juicy on the inside with that perfect tandoor crust. It paired excellently with naan and green chutney.
⭐ Chicken Patiala (Highlight Dish!) A rich, flavourful curry with thick, creamy gravy and mildly spiced chicken. The taste had a nice Punjabi twist — buttery, aromatic, and full-bodied. Went wonderfully with both naan and Tandoori Roti. The portion was generous and easily shared among 6 people people. If you're into curries, this is a must-try!
Butter Naan: Soft, slightly crispy, and generously buttered — a great pairing with gravies (though none are pictured, naan looks tempting on its own).
👨👩👧👦 Service & Family Vibes
The staff appeared courteous and responsive. The family in the photos looks comfortable and at ease — always a good sign! The dining experience seemed unhurried and relaxed, ideal for conversations over hearty North Indian food.
💸 Value for Money

📝 Final Verdict
Biryani Mahal’s Kankarbagh outlet adds a dash of Mughlai royalty to the Patna dining scene. The food is flavorful, the place looks premium, and it’s well-suited for families. With a bit more attention to complementary sides and perhaps clearer menu offerings, this spot could easily become a...
Read moreSee the thing with these kind of restaurant is that they serve tasty mughlai dishes in their very mughlai state , what mean is to say that in a more posh restraunt the mughlai dishes are prepared with that crowd in mind. I mean to say slightly thin gravy with more oil visible more in the line of delhi or mumbai mughlai experience which is what is expected and thats good, though may not be that healthy (and by the way no such dishes are in any posh or budget restarunt , Thats an entirely different point i guess..) The price are good , The interior is also good comparative to other low price mughlai outlet in patna. Its got a Family restarunt type feel.
The food was good . Its tasty and what one expects..... We ordered Tandoori chicken masala and jahangari masala with tandoori roti and it was nice ..... no complain there......
Now you may ask if the food was good , prices are fair , the ambience is also good then why the 1 star or 0 star rating. The reason for my 1 star though such an incident warrant a 0 star rating, are the Flies, yes "FLIES".
you can be ok if the food is a bit ok , you can handle if the service is a bit sloppy on sunday , you can also be good if the ambience is not up t0 mark, Tough there was no complain in that department from my side towars biryani mahal as all these thing were good , but what you cant be ok is when u are trying to eat with one hand and the other hand is busy to disperese the fly trying to spoil you food. you cant focus on what you are eating , you cant focus on the talks with friends or family as you are completely concerned to shoo away the flies and its just bonkers......
I mean its just unbearable , The owner should take notice and and make sure that such incident never happen to anyone.
But again i guess they might think the pest issue as trivial , and do nothing about it.
its such a shame when one like the food of a restaurant but still hesitate or are reluctant to visit again due to a issue that can be easily addressable.
Hence the 0 star. Hope if i ever visit again i can edit this review and leave with a smile on my face , until then my opinion stands.
Oh , i just realized that 0 star rating is not an option. so its 1 star i guess...
Thanks for...
