If I could drag this mess to consumer court, trust me, I would. But being a student, I’ve got better things to do than waste my time on this disaster. So let me break down my pathetic 19th birthday experience at Shantilal’s, Saguna More.
We booked the place for 2 hours. Our guests were late by just 30 minutes—something any restaurant should handle with basic courtesy. But no, your staff had the audacity to keep nagging us about clearing the starters for the next slot like we were some charity case. Seriously? Our guests couldn’t even touch the starters because they were already removed.
Now, let’s talk about the food—or should I say the joke you served us? The pasta was practically soup, drenched in garlic, and disgusting. The halwa? Ice-cold, with frozen ghee sitting on top like it was straight out of the fridge. And your staff took their sweet time—20 to 30 minutes—to bring out naan and rotis, like they were doing us a favor. The only decent thing was the pastry, which we had to literally fight for because everyone else was grabbing it like vultures.
And let’s not forget the cherry on top—your rude, incompetent staff and manager. Some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered in my life. Spending 5k for this nonsense only to get roasted by my friends for the bad experience? You managed to ruin my birthday.
If you’re reading this, save yourself the disappointment and just hit up a budget dhaba instead. At least you’ll get decent food and...
Read moreRule of thumb: never book in case there are multiple parties on the same day at the same time.
Worst management due to multiple parties. Three birthday parties were there, the staff told during booking that they have a capacity to manage 110 guests, but they were not able to manage 90-100 guests together from all the three parties that night.
The worst part is, the manager won't come to talk to you. He will be out in the kitchen and not coming to the dining area.
Three parties doesn't mean three different buffets, instead they all will have a single buffet stall. Now guests of other parties will start showing their typical strange behaviour as if they haven't seen food in many years. Believe me, one tray of paneer came as starter and three guests just emptied the whole tray in three plates (not sure if they were able to even eat that much or not), denying the guests from other parties to even take that dish. Now wait again for another 10-12 min for that dish to refill, in a situation that all the stalls were empty at that time.
And in fact, the management failed in refilling the items back. It felt like they were re-cooking everything again, it took that long for each item to get refilled.
The starters were 3.8/5, but the main course...
Read moreVery Bad Experience Yesterday (7/7/24), after seeing the huge hoardings & too many digital promotions, we decided to visit this place for dinner but the actual experience was pathetic. Seems Shantilal has spended all their money only on ads & hoardings assuming that people can be fooled by these gimmicks, may be but only for 1st time. We opted for buffet, but the foods/menu was not there as per their plan & even they were not serving it properly. Most of the items was missing and was not made available even after asking for it. We were told that main course will start after 9 pm only & if we want main course then we will have to eat whatever is available at 8:45 pm. Don't know how can they be so foolish. Anyway even at 9 pm most of main course items were missing & the staffs present there were not responding even after on doing regular enquiry on these things, seems they were asked to behave like that only, to fool customers & save money. Will not recommend anyone to visit this place as it's pathetic & road side carts will...
