Mermaid Pub and Restaurant — Restaurant in Chandigarh

I recently visited Mermaid Pub & Restaurant near Sukhna Lake and honestly, the location is the biggest highlight. Sitting right by the lake, the outdoor seating gives you such a peaceful view—perfect for a chill evening with friends.

The vibe inside was casual and decent, nothing too fancy but comfortable enough. I tried a few things off the menu—ordered a paneer tikka and spring rolls with a drink. The food was okay, not amazing, but did the job. Drinks were standard too. It’s more about the view and experience than gourmet food, to be honest.

One small downside was the service—it wasn’t bad, but it could’ve been quicker. Also, prices felt a bit on the higher side for the quality.

Overall, it’s a nice spot if you're around the lake and want to relax for a bit. I’d say go for the location and vibes, not expecting a top-notch...

Pathetic restaurant-pathetic food, pathetic staff & their behaviour & they treat as if they don't want anyone to visit their restaurant. They serve the cold coffee in Kingfisher draught glasses, I mean ridiculous- have you ever been served coffee in a kingfisher draught glass? They talk so rudely and arrogantly which becomes humiliating for the customers. Why would anyone visit such a restaurant which doesn't value its customers, I guess they should keep the fact in mind that they exist just because of customers and if they treat them in such a way, then they don't have much scope in the longer run because in longer run only those restaurants exist and achieve success who value their customers.

I would never ever recommend anyone to visit...

I visited Mermaid Restaurant with my family. We ordered bhaturey but were not sure they will serve it or not as choley bhaturey is in there breakfast menu and we visited in evening. They said 'yes'. To my surprised they served us our dish which they got from the restaurant outside. Secondly, they didnt even chsnged there plates it was served as they got from that restaurant. Thirdly, they charged us the price of there own dish which was way higher than what they bought at from the restaurant outside.

Funny part is, i did tell them to atleast change the plates to this the waiter just smiled and left.

I didnt feel this is the way a decent restaurant should serve its customers. Not at all...
