Well we heard so much about this place, but unfortunately the HYPE IS NOT REAL. We went for samudhri platter, pathar ke kebab, Raan, vegetable platter, butter chicken, jamun lemonade, alchemist cloud nine, . Well I have to be honest Salmon galouti —2/10, the texture is missing, the kebab is not melt in the mouth. Red Fish Tikka—2/10, too salty and flavours are completely off. White fish tikka—8/10 good flavours and was moist. Praws(Tandoori)— 7/10 good flavours nicely made. Pathar ke kebab—4/10 no salt, no flavour completely off Raan—3/10 over cooked, no juiciness and the only flavour that came was because of the gravy. Paneer kebab— 6/10 not something special. Purple Yam—3/10 nope, simply avoid. Edamame kebab—4/10, the flavour of binding was higher and edamame was totally missing( it’s like paying for one thing getting something else). Tandoori mushroom—6/10(not special) Keema mirch—4/10(though it was free but nope) Butter chicken-7/10 decent but didn’t have that touch of sweetness and was spicy for the kids. The drinks we ordered were good, jamun lemonade and alchemist and cloud 9. The biggest turn off was the entire food that came was cold and the service staff is not trained well, the service could be better and well they should be taught about the serving aswell, as the Raan was served the sever totally forgot to give the rogan to make it flavourful, naans ordered for the kids came almost after 15 mins and calling again and again SAD. Main course—Mutton Beliram—9/10 must have. Murg sia mirch— 5/10 not too much on liking. Parda naan— 8/10 Hari mirch ki roti— 7/10 a bit moti Everything prantha— 3/10 not something enjoyable. Desserts—mango kulfi- Presentation—10/10. Taste—10/10. Wow. Vanilla gelato— presentation-10/10 flavour, decent flavours and enjoyable by the kids. Heer ki kheer—presentation—9/10, taste—4/10, the compote(blueberry killed all the flavours) not a good idea.
Overall— Service— needs a lot of improvement and training, we were seated on the corner and believe you me we had to literally go and approach the servers so we could be served. Nishant the restaurant manager was still on top of things but it felt like it was a one man army juggling everywhere. Food— Snacks—For the research time spent as explained by the person incharge almost 2 years felt like a SHAM. Sadly I feel the ratings given maybe paid reviews so be cautious as you come for food. Main course— well must say the team was quick to capture that we were not satisfied with what was being served as snacks. So they took notice and well Mutton beliram was nice, chicken was somewhat average, Ghar ghar ki dal was also decent. The highlight for us was the parda naan and mutton Beliram. Dessert— mango kulfi( must have) the best, Heer ki Kheer— well the blueberry overpowered all the flavours across. Vanilla gelato— in house gelato, good!!
Lastly the manager he was extremely attentive and really did his best to turn around things but the snacks killed the mood today. Overall needs he’ll lots of improvements. Hope they...
Read moreVisited Shaffa in Chandigarh for dinner recently. It’s an upscale Mughlai and North Indian restaurant, and while the overall experience had a few hiccups, I’d say it’s worth checking out, especially for the ambience and service.
The vibe of the place is stunning. Beautiful golden accents, Mughal and old Indian-style motifs everywhere, and the crockery is gorgeous. There’s also an interactive open kitchen which adds a nice touch. Definitely a 5/5 for ambience.
The service was honestly one of the best parts of the evening. The staff was polite, friendly, and very well trained. Special shoutout to the manager who was extremely attentive. There was a small mix-up with our drinks. We ordered the Jamun Lemonade mocktail, but got served a different one called Cloud 9 by mistake. We only realised after sipping quite a bit, but the manager handled it really well. The bar manager, Aditya, personally came over and remade the Jamun Lemonade himself, not once, but twice, to make sure it tasted right. While the drink itself wasn’t mind-blowing, their effort to fix the issue was appreciated. Our server, Monty, was also super polite and helpful throughout the meal.
As for the food, starters were a bit disappointing. We tried the Do Patti Chaat, Edamame Ke Seekh Kebab, and Nadru Galouti Kebab. The chaat was decent, nothing special, but okay. The Edamame Seekh felt like a basic hara bhara kebab and was quite spicy, and the Galouti was average and again, too spicy to really enjoy. For a Mughlai restaurant to not get the kebabs right was honestly a letdown.
But the mains saved the meal. The Tauliya Naan is massive and served table-side! Really fun and actually delicious, with zaatar and spices making it crispy and flavourful. The Dal Pakhtooni (similar to Dal Makhani) was fantastic. It was creamy, rich, and hot, with a huge portion size. Definitely the highlight of the food.
Overall, portion sizes were very generous, especially for the pricing and quality.
Final thoughts: I’d rate the experience a 3.8/5. Starters need improvement, but the ambience, friendly service, and the Dal with that giant naan make me want to come back. Worth a visit if you’re in the mood for upscale Indian food with great...
Read moreNestled in the heart of the city’s vibrant dining scene, Shaffa emerges as a resplendent sanctuary for the discerning gourmand. From the moment you step through its doors, the ambience casts a spell — an exquisite blend of modern elegance and timeless charm, where every detail, from the soft, golden lighting to the curated decor, exudes refined sophistication.
The culinary journey at Shaffa is nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish is a testament to masterful craftsmanship and a deep reverence for flavor. The Palak Patta Chaat set the tone — crisp, delicately spiced, and bursting with fresh, vibrant notes. Following this, the Sawariya Naan and 24K Paneer were an opulent revelation; the richness of the paneer, adorned with edible gold, was balanced beautifully against the pillowy, aromatic naan.
The Tandoori Paneer delicacy was yet another triumph, perfectly charred and tender, immersed in a luscious, velvety sauce that sang with depth and warmth. Each bite revealed layers of carefully calibrated spices, showcasing the kitchen’s extraordinary attention to detail.
No less impressive were the drinks — a collection of impeccably crafted mocktails and cocktails that dazzled both in presentation and taste. Each sip was an intricate dance of flavors, refreshing and indulgent, completing the experience with an artful flourish.
Service at Shaffa was, in a word, impeccable. The staff moved with a rare grace, effortlessly blending attentiveness with a quiet discretion that allowed the evening to unfold at its own perfect pace. Every recommendation felt personalized, every need anticipated before it could be voiced.
Shaffa is not merely a restaurant; it is a celebration — of flavor, of artistry, of the sublime joy that a truly exceptional dining experience can evoke. It is a destination for those who seek not just a meal, but a memory. An evening at Shaffa lingers long after the last plate is cleared, a dazzling reminder of what fine dining is meant to be.
A special thanks to Gurcharan Singh, who made sure our experience was nothing short of wonderful!
