If looking for authentic South Indian cuisine, this place is definitely not the one. Except the taste, flavour and authenticity, everything scores high. Oh yes the cost for sure tops the list.
Idli sambhar : 1/5 (only if I could rate 0 but 1 point for the weightless idli… it was not heavy and light while eating but again no taste)
Rava onion dosa : 2/5 (bit burnt and no taste. Neither of onion nor rava and even if I try to imagine the taste of rava dosa, well that’s something hard to imagine. And since I love rava dosa , being biased and rating 2 because this was least worst of the 3 items we ordered)
Onion tomato uttapam : 1/5 ( I wish I could rate 0 for this ). Absolutely no taste… nothing. The only taste I got was the blunt tomato flavour. That’s it. And trust me I could not gather enough courage to take second bite also ). Try anything but not this.
Filter coffee : 3.5/5 ( I would’ve rated this more but it costs around 90-100 bucks, which was something not very acceptable because paying is fine but only if I get something extraordinary justifying the cost).
Staff : full points (humble well mannered helpful) Ambiance: okay Hygiene and cleanliness: full points.
So people pls don’t go with the reviews and ratings you see in Google if you’re really craving and looking for good South Indian food. Even I was mesmerised and flew with the recognisations they’ve received , but witnessing the place in real was a big disappointment. This place was no different than any normal dosa venture/point/stall in terms of taste and flavour.
And yes we received complimentary rassam as a welcome drink which tasted good.
@sundarams: I suppose we are open with reviews and feedback hence wrote what I felt. Pls take it positively and work on the same . Hope I visit again and give contrasting feedback than...
Read moreWe were welcomed with a glass of warm Rasam with an infectious smile of the staff to this fantastic South Indian joint in sector 26. Energetic Mr Sundaram added a personal touch under his supervision. They serve mouth licking South Indian food with a very authentic taste. It is also not a very expensive place as per the taste and portion they serve. They have good seating capacity. Besides providing mouth-watering delicacies, Sundarams also ensures that the food stays light and nutritive, punctuated with some of the choicest enriching Indian herbs. And don’t forget to have the filter coffee. It’s strong and very well made.
The food is personally looked after by the owners and coked under their supervision. True Kerala vibes in the decorations. The vadaas are so light and melt in the mouth. Must ask for their special gun powder chutney as accompaniment to their dosas. Filter coffee is excellent. Winning awards consecutively for 10 years is a tribute to their hard work. Food ordered for a large number was par excellence. Each preparation was outstanding which in North India is quite rare to find. It fails the national brands ! A place that deserves to be repeatedly visited for meals.
Only a little work is needed on their ambience all others are...
