On Wednesday, we made our way to the restaurant and ordered a non-vegetarian platter, steamed momos, and a mocktail. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. While the fish fry was passable in terms of taste, the wrap, kebab, and momos were extremely disappointing and hardly qualified as edible.
After spending 45 minutes at the restaurant, we requested the bill. It was then that we encountered a disregard for the law and a non-compliant billing process. Here are the reasons behind our frustration:
The initial bill included a service charge of 10%. According to the Supreme Court's guidelines, service charges are optional and should not be imposed by default. It is at the discretion of the individual whether to pay them or not.
Despite repeatedly requesting the waiter to remove the service tax from the bill, it was only revised and presented to us after several reminders.
As we had booked our table through Zomato Gold and were eligible for a 10% discount, we expected to make the payment online via Zomato. However, the restaurant refused to accept online payment through the platform.
When we inquired about the reason for this refusal, the manager informed us that if we paid via Zomato, they would add an additional service charge to the bill.
It is disheartening to see restaurants like 'I Sacked Newton' disregarding the Supreme Court's guidelines and charging customers for service charges. Furthermore, online platforms like Zomato, which represent these establishments and book tables on their behalf at discounted rates, are failing to uphold their commitments.
This issue seems prevalent in the NCR region, particularly in Noida and Ghaziabad, where restaurants and malls are openly flouting government policies and guidelines, challenging authorities, and causing dissatisfaction among residents.
Credible online delivery and dining partners, such as Zomato, should take regular feedback from customers and take serious action against restaurants that fail to honor their commitments. It is crucial for these platforms to maintain the trust of their customers by holding establishments accountable for...

Read moreIf I had the option to rate in negative, I would probably not even give one star to this place.
This was the second time I went to this place. First was in 2017 and now in March 23.
Good things first, the ambience is amazing, the bar is enormous and beautiful, loved their collection of alcohol. The seats are super comfy and having a sip of your favorite drink sitting on that lavish couch actually gives you a great feel.
BUT
The food, for which we actually went was utterly disappointing. We had Chicken Sui Mai dimsums and Butter Chicken Biryani along with cucumber cooler and watermelon mojito. The dimsums, though of large size and good filling of chicken, had no taste whatsoever. Even the water in which they were boiled managed to creep inside the dimsum and made the experience worse. The management actually needs to either hire a new chef or train the current one to know what biryani tastes like. The chicken chunks though tender were not cooked well and we could actually feel the raw marination. The biryani tasted nothing like butter chicken or biryani. We never waste food but we just couldn't have another bite of the fried rice served in front of us.
Both the drinks were extra sweet maybe owing to excessive use of syrup. We got them diluted yet it failed to make much of a difference.
We had the same experience in 2017 and exactly the same experience today. However the staff seemed better behaved and courteous than last time. The attendants ensured we have a good experience altogether.
We are sorry to say this but we might never actually...
