Appalling Experience at Bobachee – Utter Disregard for Basic Hospitality .
To Whom It May Concern,
What I experienced at Bobachee, South Extension II, New Delhi on 21st May 2025 was not just disappointing—it was appalling. For an establishment that claims to offer a premium dining experience, your service, hygiene, and management were absolutely disgraceful.
Let me outline the serious failures during our visit:
Pathetic Hospitality & Disorganized Service
We were greeted coldly by an uninterested hostess and placed at a table under a glass roof where the air conditioning barely worked—clearly uncomfortable for any guest.
No one offered to assist us when we moved to a better table on our own.
We were passed around between three different stewards, each completely unaware of the previous one's interactions. We had to repeat our order every single time—a staggering lack of basic coordination.
Substandard, Inedible Food
The Pad Thai (vegetarian) we received was a disgrace: overcooked, mushy noodles with soggy, flavorless vegetables.
We returned it and ordered Mutton Ghee Roast—thankfully decent, but too little, too late.
The final straw: strands of human hair in the white sticky rice that came with the Green Thai Curry. This is not just poor service—it’s a direct violation of food safety and hygiene.
Management Apathy – A Shameful Display
When we reported the contamination, the rice was changed, but our appetite was already gone.
We requested to speak to the General Manager, Mr. Ravinder Singh Rana. He was present in the restaurant but couldn’t be bothered to address a serious guest complaint.
Instead, he sat in full view of guests, eating his own meal like a couch potato, completely disengaged. His attitude was an insult to every paying customer in that restaurant.
Chef Yuyaraj Kholi, while you may strive to create a culinary brand, your team on the floor is actively sabotaging it. Your restaurant staff is indifferent, poorly trained, and utterly disrespectful to guests. Unless immediate, serious changes are made, no level of decor or branding will save your reputation.
I’ve attached proof of our visit, including the bill and business card of the GM, who should be held accountable.
This experience warrants not just an apology, but a complete audit of your hygiene practices, training standards, and management discipline.
Until then, I will not be returning, and I will make sure to share this experience widely with...
Read morePerhaps Never Again! Please read full review. Reason: They served rancid alcohol that got us sick. So, Invited by an Indian Friend travelling in to Delhi, 'Bobachee' has opened where 'Circus' used to be earlier. And 'Circus' was a Good place, so we were happy to try this one too. Also, before visiting we were told the place is owned by Moti Mahal owners and we were pleasantly surprised that the owners own family was dining their the day we went for lunch. We were a party of approx 10 people. Well one would expect the best food when the owner is around. Sadly... disappointed. 1st of all PROS - 1. Their INDIAN FOOD is GOOD. Butter chicken very good. And the one CHOCOLATE MAGIC BALL dessert is BEAUTIFUL & Well made! No doubt there. Hence, the 2 stars to Food else it would be 1 star Their HOSPITALITY & SERVICE is GOOD. To their credit they did change something if it was unsatisfactory. Hence, 4 stars to service. It would be 5 stars had they not replaced one rancid drink with another as old and rancid.
CONS: 1. Biggest issue, they served Rancid drinks in cocktails that got us sick; Apart from Indian, all other food, esp. continental, is really not worth eating. The paratha at the bottom of the Ghee roast seemed hard as if a re-microwaved R2E frozen one. The chicken pepper steak... after some time we actually forgot it was chicken and thought it may be meat as it was so tough, dried and chewey. 4 of us couldn't muster to finish it and left it on the plate.
PRICING - Expensive! The minimum for a Dessert is Rs 445 and For dishes may be approx Rs 645. Most eating worthy dishes cost almost +/- Rs1000 per dish with Tax. For the big bill we spent for 10 pax...falling sick was really disappointing. The least one expects is edible food & drink.
So if you're visiting the place, we RECOMMEND 1. Sticking to basic Indian faire. And if drinking is a must, stick to something straight out of the bottle like beer. (Those who had beer were fine) If it feels funny to consume, reject it.
But in the long run, in a place like South Ex, the place may only thrive if they can address the above quality issues.
OVERALL:- 2.5 Stars but since Google doesn't provide .5 ratings we rounded it up simply because of the...
