This is regarding my recent visit to Moti Mahal Delux- Legendary Culinary South Extension 2. I would like to recommend their top 5 dishes. I place them on top based on three parameters in comparison to other restaurants. These parameters include – presentation, taste, and quality. Though all their dishes are exemplary in these three parameters with a slight margin in one of the parameters. But before talking about food there, let us talk about some other important points. Like, the comfort to reach there, seating comfort, and ambiance.
It is quite easy to reach here. It is on the ring road. Various modes to reach here are a cab, metro, bus, or your own conveyance. All are feasible. If you want to avoid road traffic, jams, and delays that are prominent in Delhi prefer coming by Delhi Metro. It is quite adjacent to South Ex metro station.
Moti Mahal Delux- Legendary Culinary South Extension 2 is an amalgamation of two worlds at the same location. So, you have two different worlds here. The world of DJ and the world of live ghazals. If you want to enjoy music and TV screens, enter the first hall. For enjoying ghazals with fabulous food, enter the second half. Service is at its best here. So is hospitality. Whether you are alone, couple, with family, or with friends, you get ample space of your own to enjoy and relax.
I would call it one of the best places in Delhi NCR to enjoy drinks, music, and great food. Seating is quite comfortable. The ambiance is nice and soothing. Everything matches so well here. Now, I will talk about some dishes and out of those would recommend a few as ‘must-have’. In fact, this is one of the few legendary restaurants.
Moti Mahal Delux- Legendary Culinary Experience
We started with Puchkas at Moti Mahal Delux- Legendary Culinary South Extension 2. These are just normal. Nothing very extraordinary. In fact, the filling in Puchkas needs a little improvement and variety. The first dish that I recommend as a must-have is from the appetizers. It is Nargisi Scotch Eggs. This is one of their signature dishes that, at least, I have never found elsewhere so far. The soft boiled eggs with a crisp coating are just wow. Banarsi Gilafi Seekh is the next one not-to-miss at all.
Every dish has a unique preparation and presentation. In fact, the presentation is one of the best factors here. The presentation includes salads, size of the dish, pieces or portions, and its arrangement. Every dish looks fulfilling and a piece of beauty. Palak aur Kaju Ke Kebab is the next that I would like to repeat in my next visit.
Sabz Galawat is another fabulous dish at Moti Mahal Delux- Legendary Culinary South Extension 2. On fifth place is a tie between a starter from Indian appetizers and one from Chinese appetizers. These two are Machkli Tikka Hasrati and Crispy Paneer Roll respectively. Both are unique, unbeatable in taste, and second to none. Talumein Prawn soup was fine. In the main course, I enjoyed Kaju Khumb Matar the most. Overall, this would remain as one of my best experiences.
The place is well located. Dishes are well curated. The atmosphere is excellent for everyone to visit and enjoy the food. As I said, everything is in a way complementing each other. In fact, don’t go by just the dishes I am recommending. Try a few of your own choice too depending on your liking for veg, non-veg, chinesestarters. Or a few excellent ones from the main course. And don’t miss...
Read moreOrdered from Moti Mahal Delux after ages . It's always been a personal favourite especially for their Butter Chicken (which was founded by Moti Mahal themselves). Firstly there are a couple of other places which are infact closer than this outlet which deliver to my place , but i didn't have the best experience with one of them and saw that this was the highest rated one so ordered from here . Delivery took around 45-50 mins which is reasonable as the food was definitely freshly cooked and pretty hot when it arrived.
Items I ordered were -
Garlic Naan - The naan they made was fantastic , it must've been a huge one as even though it was cut into 3 pieces , the size of each piece was sizeable . Like 2 pieces filled me up completely . The naan was soft , nice and buttery aswell as loaded with garlic but not too much that it would over power the naan or any other dish . Loved it 5/5.
Tandoori Chicken (Full) - I believe there were 8 pieces (didn't count) but the Tandoori chicken here was fabulous aswell. I love tandoori chicken but in recent times have noticed that most restaurants don't make it too well , just decent at max. But not here , the chicken was very well cooked and had a wonderful char on the outer layer. The spices used were wonderful and had an ever so slight kick to the dish . The Chicken as said before was cooked very well , soft and juicy with an outer layer of char and was thoroughly cooked all the way through. Loved the Tandoori Chicken and giving it a 5/5 aswell.
Dal Makhni - We ordered 2 portions of this as we were craving Dal Makhni big time. Each portion is a good amount of Dal Makhni , enough for 2-4 people depending on the amount being consumed. The Dal was just superb . Rich and delicious with loads of flavours in it. The Dal was also very creamy and that's how a dal makhni should really be in my personal opinion. Absolutely stellar flavours and again every restaurant doesn't do dal Makhni very well , but here they have nailed it. It goes very well with the lachcha pyaaz and sirka pyaaz. Loved it , another 5/5.
Butter Chicken - Well , the expectations would obviously be high when ordering from the place which originally made the butter chicken which is world famous now. A dish which many like but can be easily messed up by making it too sweet or tangy . The Butter Chicken from here was none of those. It was smokey , rich , creamy and was perfectly umami but with a slight hint of sweetness and tanginess coming from the cream and tomatoes respectively . It wasn't sweet or tangy , just salty the way it should be. 4 pieces were served in the Half portion with a great amount of Gravy which is the main thing . Delicious Delicious Delicious ! Absolutely smashing butter chicken and highly recommend it - 5/5.
This whole meal was packed wonderfully , no spillage with easy removing of the tapes used . Everything was hygienic and packed perfectly. Laccha pyaaz , Sirka pyaaz and Mint Chutney were also served in a great amount. Really enjoyed the meal and it costed 2000 rs for 1 garlic naan , 2 daal makhni , 1 full tandoori murgh and half butter chicken after the Zomato pro discount , which is definitely on the expensive side but absolutely worth it cause of the hygiene , quantity and quality of food and most importantly the taste. This lasted us 2 whole meals (not the naan ofc) . Sadly didn't click pics as I was very hungry by the time the...
Read moreMoti Mahal has been a Butter chicken craving fixture for decades now and though their main specialities remain traditional and are very much tried and tested, I hopped over at this newly opened outlet to try their new menu and offerings.
Look, ambience, decor and furnishings- score!
First and foremost special mention for Mr. Pritam Singh who fondly catered to us during our time of visit and made the whole experience even more memorable. And how can I forget the bartender mr. Jeet, who made amazing cocktails to pair with our food. The ORD FASHION with jack Daniels and Apple has my heart! #musttry!
Our order started with Palak patta chaat(average) mutton barra(mindblowing), fried chicken pakora(great) and amritsari fish tikka(buttery flaked goodness)! All so very enjoyable but the barra had our repeat vote! Lamb chops Marinated, skewered, roasted, medium spiced and charred in the tandoor, this lamb on the bone which is one of their signature dishes is definitely delicious and comes super recommended!
