I am a defcol resident. Coming here since i was a little kid my family is living here since 1959. There was a time their staff had misbehaved and i didnt enter this bakery for a decade. Later i started going again as their behaviour improved. But history has repeated and i am not shocked as its the old pattern. So this is the kind of behaviour we get after spending money . They pack wrong items and then blame the customer only, its not my fault if the packer is having hearing issue pls get staff ears tested by a good ENT specialist and the brain checked of the Cashier he seriously needs counselling. I checked the bill and informed them there itself that i had asked for this and you have packed this so pls change rather the cashier short height and has dark complexion his tone changed despite knwing that we come here every second day lost basic respect otherwise this chamelleon is very sweet but true colors came out and says That he had announced 3 times that this pastry box 1 and pastry box 2 this pastry is packed so you should have listened madam . i also told the packer 2 times what i needed so he also should have been more alert. But this behaviour is the issue you may announce 50 times also but if you have packed wrong items its not customer fault and you have to agree for your mistakes rather than getting rude for no reason decent behaviour means changing it without creating any drama but its the old age pattern they are god and always right so like it or not customer u r wrong they are doing a favour by giving you things so customer u r an idiot and accept it they can never ever be wrong... after seeing this nonsense of theirs.... ..i didnt react at all and since my mom was there at that time as i have self respect and we are dignified people who do not want to argue with such low caliber people, they changed the items making big swollen face with an unapologetic behaviour, so i do not wish to enter this bakery again as if this is what they do with residents who come here often and give them business and also recommend their name to friends and relatives then let me tell you Maxim in Kailash colony is better & cheaper with very good well mannered and decent staff much better you. Also Defcol has many bakeries you aint the only shop. So with this attitude i see your downfall coming soon. And trust me this incident will be told to many residents and also will be forwarded into defcol groups. Thanks a lot ...
Read moreWe went to Defence Bakery for the first time and purchased a lot of bakery items to try.
The staff was supportive and would assist you very nicely. The bakery was neat, clean and hygienic.
Here is a detailed review of the products which we purchased and tried :
Butter Croissant : it was FRESH and very TASTY. A must try for Croissant lovers.
Plain Rusk : they were fresh and crisp, but the SUGAR was a little more than what it is supposed to be there in rusk.
Apple Pie : way too SWEET and totally disappointed with this one. I couldn't feel the apple crunches which a traditional apple pie should have. And I would recommend NOT to put any nuts or raisins in it.
Strawberry Berliner : just an AVERAGE copy of a donut filled with strawberry cream.
Strawberry Bow : it was NICE & TASTY and was filled with fresh strawberry flavoured cream.
Key Lime Pie : again very SWEET and I could only feel the chunky lime flavour. The base (not sure what it was made of) was almost tasteless and didn't feel like it was fresh. Therefore, not as good as it was looking.
Italian Tiramisu Jar : very AVERAGE and I can say that I have tried far better Tiramisu than this one.
Traditional Plum Cake : highly disappointed with this one. VERY VERY SWEET & I couldn't feel the actual taste of the ingredients inside. Felt like I was eating some kind of CHYAWANPRASH. The price was very high as compared to the quality/quantity of the product.
Cheese & Jalapeno Bread : yet to try.
Overall, even though the bakery is said to be established in 1962, I felt like it was quite average in terms of taste. Especially, the SUGAR CONTENT of most of the items was VERY HIGH and the quality didn't justify the price of those items. A lot of improvement needs to be done in the sweet...
Read moreI visited Defence Bakery today with high expectations, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I ordered a Tres Leches, and from the start, the experience was off. The packaging was absolutely horrible rather than using a proper container for Tres Leches, they just packed it in regular packing, which caused it to spill and made my clothes and car dirty. They clearly have no understanding of how to properly package this delicate dessert.
As for the taste, it was a complete disaster. I’ve had Tres Leches from many places in India, including the best ones like Magnolia, and I know how it should taste. However, this version was nothing like the authentic Tres Leches. It felt like they didn't know what the key ingredient condensed milk was, as it tasted more like a poorly made Rabdi than a Tres Leches. This was a rookie mistake, and it ruined the entire experience.
I strongly advise anyone visiting to not order the Tres Leches. While they might have other items that are decent, my experience with this dessert was so bad, I couldn’t give them more than one star.
Rating: Packing: -0/5 Taste: 0/5
I hope they improve, but until then, I can’t recommend...
