"I visited Kamei Asian at Eldigo Center in New Delhi, largely due to recommendations and the buzz surrounding this new hotspot. Walking in with zero expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional experience that awaited me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm smile, and the ambiance transported me to a different world.
The interior design was impeccable, with perfect low lighting, comfortable seating arrangements, and bar chairs at just the right height. The décor was tasteful and inviting, setting the tone for a fantastic dining experience. Even at 7 p.m., when the restaurant was bustling with guests arriving and departing, the atmosphere remained calm and welcoming.
What struck me most was the impeccable temperature control. Unlike many restaurants where the air conditioning can feel overwhelming, especially during peak hours, Kamei Asian maintained a comfortable ambiance throughout my visit. Even when the place was packed an hour later, the atmosphere remained relaxed and pleasant.
The drinks were exceptional, and the origami-style menu was a creative touch. I highly recommend trying "The Life of a Turtle" – it was a standout. The food, however, was truly mind-blowing. The quality of the seafood was superb, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. The flavors were complex and well-balanced, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail.
The front-of-house team was knowledgeable and attentive, knowing exactly what they were doing to ensure a seamless dining experience. The bar area was lively and well-designed, adding to the overall energy of the restaurant. The service team was constantly on their feet, smiling and catering to guests' needs with ease.
What impressed me most was the attention to detail and the clear passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience. From the décor to the food and service, every aspect of Kamei Asian was well thought out and executed.
If you're looking for a great dining experience in New Delhi, Kamei Asian is definitely a place to visit. With its excellent food, creative drinks, and welcoming atmosphere, it's sure to become a favorite among foodies and casual diners alike. I'll certainly be returning soon to experience more of what this fantastic restaurant...
Read moreI was looking forward to dining at Kaméi after hearing great things about the food and ambience. However I received very poor service by the staff at the reservation desk. I called on Thursday evening and asked for a booking for 4 people for Friday night 8:30PM. The staff member asked how many males and females were joining (I'm not quite sure how that is relevant) and then asked me to be on hold and thereafter, she explained to me that they charge a reservation fee for bookings on Fridays and Saturdays which is adjusted with the final bill. I asked her the charges and confirmed the booking under my name and with my phone number. I asked her how I can make the payment and she mentioned that she would share a QR code and towards the end of the call, she quite needlessly stated that children are not allowed in the restaurant because she could hear my son talking to me in the background. I assured her that he wasn't coming for the dinner but it was quite unnecessary to be told that. The entire call was for 2 minutes which is fairly long and would have given her enough time to note down all the relevant details but I didn't receive any payment link or a QR code. Since it is their restaurant policy, I waited for them to send something across but I didn't receive anything. I called the next afternoon, nobody answered and the line was busy and then I decided to write to them on Whatsapp and was first asked if my booking was for 3 people at 7:00pm (which it was not) and then I was told that the restaurant is sold out. Nobody bothered to call and clarify what happened and who took my details the previous evening. I was told that they would note down my details and get back to me. I would have chosen not to share this publicly if they had been slightly more responsive and kind, however, just the entire initial interaction and booking experience was fairly jarring and ultimately not handled in a competent way. I do hope they get better with their reservations and also the way in which they speak to their...
Read moreThis restaurant has the most "BIZZARE" Reservation policy I have EVER encountered in Delhi NCR. I had called and requested for a table for 8pax 2 days prior for a Saturday evening dinner. The person who took my call clearly mentioned that only "High Tables with Chairs" are available adjacent to the bar area. I categorically agreed to this seating and clearly mentioned that since the diners are coming from different areas of Delhi, we will reach only by 9:30pm. This was confirmed by the reservations person along with my contact details, and the call concluded. On the day of the reservation when we reached the restaurant, that to before 9:30pm; to our disappointment; we were informed at the hostess desk that our reservation is ON WAITLIST. I clearly mentioned the details of my reservation call, and at no time in the conversation were the words "WAITING LIST" even mentioned to me. I even went to the effort of clarifying why would 8 guests come on a Saturday, that too, from far of locations of Delhi without having a confirmation for their reservation. To which the restaurant person replied that all reservations are confirmed with a WhatsApp message. To which I replied that what stopped or prevents the restaurant from sending a WhatsApp message to those who they are putting on the "Waiting List" to clearly communicate the reservation status. To which all I received was an apology but No Table available for the next hour. Well, I personally find this incident extremely "Bizzare and Inexplicable" Good Luck running a restaurant with this sort of a ridiculous policy and inappropriate behaviour and...
