Being a South Indian and esp Mangalorean, I chose to dine at this "fine" restaurant, with an idea of gulping some of my favourite ice creams that I get in M'lore's Ideals/Pabbas Cream parlour. But alas! We had to manage with simple Ice creams as their ice cream machines weren't working😔😕.
However, we tried Butter Masala Dosa, Plain ghee roast, coconut Uttam(I didn't like it actually... it was a little uncooked like), corn manchurian which was prepared as per my order sans garlic. So the corn manchurian tasted good on my taste buds!
We completed our dinner with Onion Kulcha, butter roti and finally the much awaited ice creams! I'd planned to consume Mango Sundae and my nephew who accompanied me had planned to consume choco blast, but as I said in the beginning itself, their machines were not in working condition and hence we had to compromise with just a mango and a chocolate ice cream scoops!!!!
This restaurant is very close to the Green Park metro station. It is very easy to trace the restaurant standing near Gate no. 4 of the metro station. But exiting from gate no. 4 is a bad idea as we have to walk to a longer distance to take either the Skywalk or the lift adjacent to the skywalk (as there's a long divider with no openings anywhere nearby). Therefore, taking the Skywalk/ lift is mandatory. So instead of Gate no. 4, Gate no. 1 is an ideal choice to exit, which is very close to the restaurant. But unfortunately, if we're not observant enough, we may never trace the entry into this hotel as the entry to this restaurant doesn't appear like an entry to a hotel with a narrow staircase taking the customers into the hotel. Near the staircase is a hardware shop selling water faucets and other related items. So this shop appears prominently engulfing the view of the restaurant's staircase.
This restaurant is a branch of Gugaon's(Sector 22, if I'm not wrong) Karnataka restaurant. I always loved visiting the Gurgaon's branch. That branch always had all those yummy, huge ice creams like Parfait, banana split, bee-hive, gadbad, dilkhush and other regular smaller ice cream scoops. We also have a very cheerful Tulu(a local language of M'lore and surrounding places) speaking manager in Gurgaon's Karnataka restaurant giving the feeling of eating out in M'lore only. Something like home away from home kind of feeling.
Service rendered in Green Park's Karnataka Veg restaurant was pretty good, although they take a lot of our time in waiting initially. But once we start with, we will not be made to wait for more as and when we order in between our meals. The waiters are also polite enough to beg pardon for delaying. So overall, it's a good restaurant and can be counted on if you're a veggie foodie. The restaurant looked spacious enough.
Unlike Saravana Bhavan, Janpath, our patience, time and money don't get tested here! Saravan Bhavan offers very very tasty, yummy food. But the problem is the size of Vadas, Uttappams, dosas, that are all reduced; with no reduction in price. It is in fact on the higher side comparatively. So they not only test our patience keeping us waiting in the queue for long, but also charge exorbitantly! So comparatively, price- wise and wait- wise, I'd prefer Karnataka Restaurant, Green Park for Saravana Bhavan, Janpath.
Location- wise, both Saravana Bhavan and Karnataka restaurant are placed right near the metro stations of Janpath and Green Park respectively. To conclude, enjoy hogging.... enjoy cool ice creams and beat the heat....
Read moreKarnataka Restaurant in Yusuf Sarai, Delhi, is an excellent choice for vegetarians, especially those who love South Indian cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes that are both delicious and authentic. Its located just over the Green Park, Metro station.
During our visit, we ordered the Dosa, Idli Vada, and also tried the Aloo Paratha. Each dish was very good and exceeded my expectations. The Dosa was crispy and perfectly cooked, served with flavorful chutneys and sambar. The Idli Vada was soft and fluffy, with the vada being crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Aloo Paratha was a pleasant surprise, well-stuffed and seasoned, making it a delightful addition to the meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant is simple and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The service was prompt and courteous, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.

Read moreThis is one of my Favorite South Indian joint in south Delhi...always maintain its taste and quality of food...but reason for giving 1 Star is because of my last visit on 10th Jan 2021...we enjoyed our lunch ...however as usual we are not great fan of the Red Tomato Chutney so we tasted it but didn't finished it.....once we finished our food....we noticed that cleaning worker came and picked up the empty trays etc...And at our utter notice.... he gone back and mixed the leftover Tomato Chutney in the biggest fresh bowl for serving other customers..... I couldn't believe that a Restaurant like Karnataka can also adopt such unhygienic cheap practices to save Tomato Chutney worth Rs. Not more than Rs. 10... even in Covid-19 Pandemic.... This is not really acceptable after all Restaurant is charging good amount of money for its food... customers deserve Hygienic in corona Times... However, it was my last visit.... never going to Karnataka Again... and I urge other customers to...
