Just 59 feet away from Neela Gumbad or Sabz Burz (which it was called originally) near Humanyun time there used to be a joint by the name of Aap Ki Khatir, which was famous for its kakori kebabs. This joint by the name of Sab ki Khatir was trying to get some bounced off customers. Now the main kebabchi (a kebab specialist chef ) which was incidentally at the footpath outside Nizamuddin Dargah is gone.
This shop survived. Here they use the same ingredients to make Kakori kebabs and Galoati kebabs. Both are bad. Kakori doesn't have cashew nut paste in it, which was one of the prime elements in original kebabs by Aap Ki Khatir. In the name of biryani, they serve yellow rice with pieces of badly carved mutton pieces and worms gravy.
Difference between Galouti and Kakori Kebab
The galouti is a street food from Lucknow. Galoutis are made of keema, taken from the leg of a lamb. The galouti, like shami kebab, are formed into patties and roasted on a tawa.
On the other hand, kakori kebabs are a special treat, being much more productive. Traditionally, it was never a street food. Every kilo of lamb {taken from the thigh} has to have 200 grams of fat.
