Baoshuan — Restaurant in New Delhi

I visited Baoshuan with my family for the much acclaimed Michelin Star Chef’s designed culinary experience and I left the place completely underwhelmed. All items where so dry- lamb chops were fried and dry, ribs were dry and too sweet, even the steamed fish was as DRY as the Sahara Dessert!! I expected 5star service in Oberoi and that was as dry as the food. The only good tasting item was the prawn dumplings. But then I had visited Baoshuan for a scrumptious experience and not just good tasting food. I have posted the pics of all the food items.

The cutlery set cover had a broken button and the fork was bent - I am okay with such an oversight in a neighborhood mom&pop joint but not The Oberoi, New Delhi. The best tasting dimsums and Chinese cuisine, all served in excellent ambience. We came here to have some exquisite Chinese cuisine and were not disappointed. We had ordered the unlimited set lunches with alcohol.

The dimsums (starters) were served hot and they kept coming in a steady stream, various different types of dimsums both veg and non veg, chicken and pork etc, all these were excellent.

The main course options are many and we selected one veg and non veg dishes.

The choice of alcohol varies from beer to wine, including whisky. We settled for Gin and tonic for the starters and white wine for the main. The dessert comprised of ice creams.

The staff are very attentive and particularly helpful, and have good knowledge. They also suggest suitable alcohol choices to complement the food

We will be definitely coming here for another round of lunch.

I visited BaoShuan on a Saturday night carrying a belief that it would be one of the best Chinese foods I would taste in Delhi. Unfortunately that was not the case. We were sat comfortably within minutes without any reservations and were hosted with a polite staff who answered my queries and suggested me to go for ‘Wild Mushroom and Truffle Steamed Bun’ for starters and boy was it disappointing to say the least. In terms of flavour, where was it! I sadly, didn’t feel like taking another bite of the dim sim. For main course, we ordered ‘Udon Noodles’ which was presented with 5 different sauces which failed to add a flavour or punch to the dish.
