This outlet has degraded in past 2yrs beyond words. I used to be a fan of their sweets. I relished their sweets because I found it to be closest to Kolkata sweets and ordered from there when I craved sweets. Now reviewing their items. In current times, the malai chomchom and misti doi has only retained its taste. But don’t try the special misti doi it’s not good. Rest everything is getting worse day by day. The Rosogolla was spongy and not in a good way. I felt I was eating the sponge of scrub bar. The lengcha taste wise okayish but has a artificial flavouring to it of ‘atar’ probably. Another time when I ordered lengcha it was stale and had very unpleasant tangy taste. The lobongo is overly sweet and not that good.
The samosa I liked the filling very much but again the outer part was doughy and not cooked properly on every side. Also I once ordered radhaballabi which was giving unpleasant raw pea’s taste and tasted more like puri. And the aloo dum they served with it was very bland and not properly seasoned and they had put way too much turmeric in it. And let’s not go to the price point. They serve 1/3rd size of items with 3 times price point of sweets in Kolkata. I still sometimes do order from this place as I don’t have other options for sweets when I crave...
Read moreI am a regular customer of this store, sweets are good in taste but they burn the pocket very hard. Cost of any sweet/snack you want to have is very very high. Every sweet is more than Rs 35 per piece and snack more than Rs 25. I think most of the customers who go to the store will be bengali and we all know the actual cost of them. Not from any angle the cost of any sweet is justified. Nor the location of the store or the store infrastructure justifies the rates. I am no one to comment on their business strategy but they should really think on the rates and revise. Giving single star because sweets are meant to spread...
Read moreI was and still am a great fan of the sweets of this outlet.Have been a regular customer. Couple of observations here : though expect in general with other brands but Mishti Affairs also seems to fall in the same league that during festive seasons their quality simply degrades. No feedback acknowledgement however what is not acceptable to me is and after a couple of encounters, observed staff indirectly differentiate between bengali and non bengali customers and service experience changes accordingly. Not sure if I will go again no matter how good the product is.
Nothing changed unfortunately except...
