The Barbecue company in Vaishali offers a familiar barbecue dining experience, but our recent visit left us with a somewhat mixed impression, ultimately earning it a 3 out of 5 stars. While certain aspects stood out, others left room for improvement.
Service: The initial impression was unfortunately dampened by slow service. From being seated to the arrival of our initial skewers, there was a noticeable delay. This sluggishness continued throughout the starter phase, which affected the overall pace of the meal. If you're in a rush or hoping for a quick dining experience, this may not be the place for you.
Starters: The starters were a mixed bag. Some were solid, while others didn’t quite hit the mark.
Drums of Heaven and Wings were both standouts. Flavorful and tender, these two dishes set a positive tone for the meal. Fish Tikka also fared well, with its soft texture and decent flavor. Palak Patta Chaat and Dahi Golgappe were refreshing and offered a nice contrast to the heavier grilled items. Grilled Pineapple was a pleasant surprise — a sweet and tangy interlude that was much appreciated.
However, not everything was great.
*The chicken tikka had small pieces and while it had decent flavor, it didn’t quite pack the punch you might expect. *Crispy Corn was only okayish, offering a bit of texture but lacking flavor depth. *The Momos, Pizza, and Garlic Bread were disappointing. The Pizza was underwhelming, the Garlic Bread lacked the crunch and seasoning, and the Momos were nothing to write home about. *The Cajun Spice Potato was also just okay, lacking the bold flavor one might hope for with a spicy seasoning.
Main Course: Things took a significant turn for the better with the main course. The buffet spread was well-stocked with flavorful dishes.
*Mutton Curry was undoubtedly a highlight — rich, tender, and packed with flavor. *Dal Makhani was also a good choice, creamy and comforting. The Biryani, while decent, was a bit too heavy on cumin, which overwhelmed the dish for some. It could use a bit more balance in flavor.
Desserts: The dessert section was another positive part of the meal.
*The Brownie was moist and rich, a perfect end to the meal. *Gulab Jamun and Jalebi were both classic and satisfying. *The Butterscotch and Chocolate Pastry were particularly well-received. *Moong Dal Halwa was decent but could have been richer in flavor, while the Ice Cream offered a cool, refreshing finish.
It’s worth noting that drinks are charged separately, so they are not complimentary as part of the barbecue package. This may add a bit to your final bill, so it's good to keep that in mind when budgeting...
Read moreMy recent visit to The Barbeque Company was a letdown, marked by average food quality and excessively high prices. While I had high expectations, given the restaurant's reputation, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Food Quality: The food served was average at best, which was surprising considering the high price point. The flavors were bland, and the variety was not as impressive as I had hoped. Given the vibrant and competitive dining scene in the area, The Barbeque Company's offerings did not stand out. Many dishes seemed to lack the freshness and excitement I expected from a barbeque buffet.
High Prices: The price was one of the most significant disappointments. At Rs 1155 for both veg and non-veg buffets, the cost is far higher than that of their competitors. For this price, I anticipated a more premium dining experience. Unfortunately, the food quality and variety did not justify this steep price.
Missing Menu Highlights: Another major letdown was the absence of some advertised highlights from their menu. Items like dimsums and summer special mango drinks, which were prominently featured, were missing from the buffet. This omission was particularly disappointing as these items were part of what drew me to the restaurant in the first place.
Lack of a Bar: The absence of a bar/alcohol was another downside. In a setting where one would expect a range of beverage options to complement the barbeque experience, the lack of a bar was noticeable. This limitation further diminished the overall dining experience, as there were no interesting drink options to enhance the meal.
Overpriced Beverages: Adding to the disappointment, the restaurant charged a whopping Rs 329 for a regular mojito. This price is exorbitant and unjustifiable, especially for a standard beverage. It felt like an unnecessary markup that added to the overall feeling of being overcharged.
Conclusion: In summary, my experience at The Barbeque Company was underwhelming. The average food quality, missing menu items, lack of a bar, and exorbitant prices made for a disappointing visit. At Rs 1155 for a buffet and Rs 329 for a cold drink, the restaurant does not offer good value for money. Given the wealth of dining options available, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a more satisfying and reasonably priced...
Read moreI had booked through eazydiner app which got me prime deal of 15% discount and then 40%(upto 1000) depending on the card used in payment.. Since I did not want any issue at time of billing I told them about the deal beforehand and even showed them the app deal on my phone. However everyone available there said that did not know anything about such deal and said that you'll get the offer at time of payment by paying through eazydiner (which is only 40% offer).. Since it was my birthday and I didn't want to ruin my experience, I didn't pursue the matter after 2 tries..
Coming to the food, non veg starters were just ok.. Prawns tasted awfully bad even after change of sauce. After I enquired about it, I came to know that they use frozen prawns. Since frozen meats are stored with chemicals for long keeping they should wash it properly before using.. Rest non veg items in starters were just ok except pizza which was good. In veg starters palak patta chat and crispy corn were good.. mushrooms tasted a bit bad and smelly..
Coming to mains items were great in taste which is generally not a case in bbq restaurants.. kadhi, paneer butter chicken were very good... Kudos to bbq company for quality mains..
In desserts there was very less variety however gajar ka halwa was very yummy.. Other items were just ok..
Coming to service it was above average however still not comparable to the absolute bbq or bbq nation or pirates of grill.. we had to ask for water and other dishes a multiple times. They charge for water bottle which were not told about earlier.. this is however the case with almost all restaurants so no gripes on this but bbq nation or absolute bbq do not charge for water bottles..
In the end, when I was leaving I again gave it a shot and asked for 15% discount on the bill, this time however the manager was different and he asked the waiter to get the bill changed and to get the discount included in the bill..
Overall my experience was mixed.. food was just ok.. Since we were expecting great starters, we focused on those only and left very little room for mains. Also they need a game changer in their desserts like bbq nation has kulfi or absolute bbq as great variety of ice creams.. Not deserves the ratings it has.. but still...
