Amancio Classic is a charming restaurant located in Tarchi Bhatt, Siolim, North Goa, right next to the Old Siolim Ferry Jetty. The restaurant serves a variety of cuisines, including Finger Food, Goan, North Indian, Chinese, and Seafood. The restaurant has an upper floor with air conditioning and a non-air-conditioned lower, each with its own unique ambiance. The restaurant has an old rustic charm that adds to its appeal. The staff at Amancio Classic are friendly and attentive, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant is especially known for its seafood, which is always fresh and of excellent quality. The must-try dishes at Amancio Classic for me include the Tandoor Fish, Fish Curry, Mussels Rava Fry, and BBQ Chicken Wings. Dishes are all reasonably priced, making them a great value for money.
However, while the seafood is excellent, the same cannot be said for the Chinese dishes. The Chinese cuisine at Amancio Classic leaves much to be desired, and the restaurant is not recommended for those looking for good Chinese food. Another issue with Amancio Classic is the rice, which is sometimes undercooked. This is something that the restaurant could improve upon, as it can be disappointing for diners. On certain days, Amancio Classic has live music, which adds to the ambiance and is a nice touch. However, parking can be tricky, especially during peak hours.
In conclusion, Amancio Classic is a great restaurant for those looking for excellent seafood and a rustic ambiance. While the Chinese cuisine is not recommended, the must-try dishes are all reasonably priced and of excellent quality. The staff are friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. Just be mindful of the undercooked rice and...
Read moreWe have started to go out to dinner once a week, it is something nice to do and there are a lot of good places around. This time we wanted to go a familiar place, where we know the food is good and since the refurbishment, the ambiance is lovely. Our two friends joined us and we found a good table by the window. Our waiter arrived quickly and we ordered our drinks and a Squid Butter Garlic to share amongst us four as a starter. My wife and I ordered a fresh lime and soda with a local gin and the lime and the soda was clearly made from a powder, not fresh, but rather sweet. I drank that one. For my next gin, I asked for freshly squeezed lime in the soda and the waiter came back with soda and three pieces of lime floating in it. I sent him back, asking him to squeeze the lime and the same, sweet drink appeared. I left it then. My wife was cleverer, she ordered a glass of wine for her second drink. The food was lovely, ample portions, our friends were very happy with their Thalis. All very reasonably priced and we came back with a filled doggy bag. Amancio Classic is a favourite of ours, we will certainly visit again and I am sure we can manage to get a squeezed lime in our drink...
Read moreAmancio is a welcome change in the northern belt from siolim to mandre where finding a good family restaurant with good food was always difficult. The ambiance is lovely , friendly staff , an old feel with the architecture , chairs and overall aesthetics of the place make it a wonderful experience. They have non AC below and Ac on first floor. The ground floor has large windows which makes the place airy and spacious. Which neutralizes the effect that it is situated right in the heart of the old siolim market. Where the ferry used to dock.
Coming to food we went ahead with chicken Cream soup which surprisingly was excellent . Very few restaurants get this right. Their chicken malai kabab was decent. Cafteal is their signature dish and worth a try. However they should keep the local pao or poli or unndo with cafreal to make it a surreal experience . We also ordered the prawns curry which was average . So go for specific dishes here , fried seafood is also a great option. The service is quick and staff is helpful.
A much needed dinner option in an around siolim and mandre ....
