Accepted a booking for 2 sun loungers at 10am. We arrived to find it closed, only person there was a security guard who told us they opened at 12pm. We had taken a 40 min car journey especially to come here so went for a walk to kill the time and came back at 12p, only to then be told by the bar tender they were now opening at 12.30pm. We shared our frustration because our booking was supposed to be for 10am, so he said we could take a seat but service would not start for another 30 mins. By 1.30pm, still no service staff to be seen anywhere and when we enquired about ordering food, we were told service wouldn’t start for another hour as the kitchen wasn’t ready. At this point we to speak to Manager, who ironically was the person I spoke to on the phone to make the booking. He advised they open around 11/11.30am (?!) and that we had been misadvised about the kitchen not being ready and that we could order food. So, he gave us some menus but then never came back to take an order. My husband ended up having to go up to bar to order. After another 20 mins they came over to tell us they had run out of potato wedges (despite us being the only customers in the place). Overall, the service was abysmal, and extremely lacking in direction from management. In the 6 hours we were there, not a single person came over to ask if we would like to order any drinks/food. Every time we wanted a drink we had to walk upstairs to the bar, which is what you expect in a low cost beach shack but not in a place like this, where prices are more than double of most. We even took our dirty plates back to the bar after sitting with them for over 30 mins. The toilet were very dirty and almost unusable, the worst we have encountered in India in fact. Used tissue all over the floor, no hand towels, floor covered in sand and puddles of water. When we asked for towels for the sun loungers, the manager advised they weren’t due to arrive for another few days. Even the most basic of beach clubs of Ashwem Beach offer this service, so it is apparent they are just not ready to accept customers and shouldn’t be taking bookings. They are pitching themselves as an upmarket place, but they have a VERY long way to go before they can be considered in such a way. Would recommend staying well clear until they have worked through their many...
Read moreZero stars for SERVICE. Even one star seems extreamly too much.
Please do not VISIT this restaurant. Booking a table here through Zomato was the single worst decision of my entire Goa trip.
The service is beyond pathetic. The waiters are completely uninterested and behave as if customers are a burden. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time, yet not a single staff member came to attend to us. We had to literally call them over for everything — to bring us the menu, to take our order, even for the smallest request. Their complete lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was shocking.
The food was no better. The portions were ridiculously small compared to the absurdly high prices. On top of that, the taste was painfully average — nothing memorable, nothing worth the money. You walk away feeling cheated.
And then came the final insult: the bill. They had quietly added a service charge without informing us. When I asked them to remove it (as customers have every right to), they insisted that it’s “mentioned on their menu” and therefore compulsory. When I pushed back, they had the audacity to say they would remove it only if I paid via card or cash — but not if I paid through Zomato. This is nothing short of a scam, trying to trap customers into paying extra.
Overall, this place is a complete disaster — unprofessional staff, overpriced and underwhelming food, and shady billing practices. Goa has plenty of wonderful restaurants where you’ll be treated with respect and actually get value for money. Do yourself a favor and stay far away...
