Copacabana Beach Shack — Restaurant in Goa

Cannot fault this fantastic shack, at a quieter part of the beach in baga. We had originally aimed to go to a different shack every day but after visiting here on our second day, we were back each day for the remainder of our holiday.

The main reason for our returning was our host Prashant. He was just fantastic and such a nice genuine person. He serves the BEST special cocktails, just tell him a flavour you like and he will sort you out. Not only that, we learned far too late In the holiday that Prashant cooks AMAZING food. Everything we tried on the menu was the best of what we had eaten in Goa. The Indian food and spaghetti dishes were out of this world. I didn't think shack food could be so good, but try it and you won't be disappointed! Prashant also has really decent local knowledge of Calangute and can recommend places to buy anything you might need.

I was ill on one of my first days staying in Calangute and Prashant made me a honey and ginger hot drink to soothe my stomach. He was very kind when I felt unwell and was checking on me each day. We honestly feel as though we made a friend in Goa and truly hope we will meet again. 😊

Also, a very special mention to Lalita who always had a bucket of water for our feet ready when we arrived and did everything she could to make sure we had shade when we needed it. Try the manicure she gives and the massages, she is awesome! She also makes really lovely bracelets at very reasonable costs.

Each Saturday, the local orphanage come and play at the beach. The local fruit lady Shabita comes and gives out fruit and it's so heart warming to see them happy and free. We donated a little towards the fruit for them and a couple of the children came to personally thank us. Honestly a highlight of our holiday. ♥️

Overall a wonderful shack, reasonably priced and well worth the walk from Calangute where we were staying. Thank you Prashant and all at Copacabana...

While travelling from Palolem to Calangute , we thought of having a look at a beach and then having lunch. Copacabana beach shack "We decided on Betalbatim and going by the reviews, Magzika seemed to a perfect place to have lunch Copacabana beach shack . I have no issues with the location, views , ambience etc but was unlucky with the food. The cocktail to start with was okay but it was the Roti which spoilt the mood. We felt that it was prepared from a dough which was not fresh and pointed out to the waiter Prashant good boy --- he of course said that it was fresh. We did have some amount of tummy discomfort for a day or so. It is difficult to understand how one can go wrong with something as basic as a tandoori roti. The cheese garlic Naan looked good but was just about passable. Among the main courses, Chicken Cafreal had a watery gravy and though not bad, it was nothing much to talk about. I have had the opportunity of having Cafreal several times in the past at various places , so comparison was natural. The paneer dish however was fine. We loved the blue fish decor on the plates, tastefully done. I have no complaints against Anjan from Assam who served us --- he was well mannered , polite and courteous. This is my personal experience at apopular place and I can at best rank this place as average as far as only food quality is concerned.''and Prashant...

The worst food ever. The pork was the worst we had in our life. Basic dal tadka and naan was so bad that we were not able to have it, dal was the worst ever, it is the easiest and most basic thing that anybody can ever make, that was inedible. We ordered for hookah and specifically asked for a flavour, it was the worst ever too, he tried to fluke us with another flavour and kept trying to pass it on as what we had ordered for, they have no idea how to make hookah either, but charge a high rate for it..they don't have a set rate card for it too, so at different times each of them keeps fluctuating the rate for it too. Horrible attitude of the waiters too, when we complained about the food quality he just kept fighting. The most basic of basic items also they couldn't even make. We saw the high rating on Google and decided to visit, but this seems to be fluke too, they are not worth a 2 even. Please save yourselves the pain and don't even bother going here, save your money and your palette and your stomach from...
