Owner run places easily stand out - so does Hakka Shiwu. A boutique eatery with a selected and affordable range of Chinese food. The golden fried prawns are soft and crisp with a gentle flavor; the dim sum melt in the mouth, they come with a thin cover unlike many places where the thick cover overwhelms the filling. The chili sauce is amazing. The drinks blend perfectly with the beach theme and Hakka Shiwu has managed to come up with cocktails which are subtle and not overly sweet. I had the best time at this wonderful new Chinese spot! The food was so authentic - especially the Dim Sum (that comes to the table in a traditional bamboo steamer), and the kung pao chicken. It's great to see so many vegetarian options too, and the drinks were excellent too! Above all else the owner, Monty, took such good care of us from the moment we walked in. Wether you are on holiday or staying for a longer time in Goa do make time to visit Hakka Shiwu in Vagator. It has a great ambience and serves the best Chinese food in town. We could really notice the attention to detail in the food and interior. Allthough its located in a bustling part of Goa once inside everything is feels serene and peacefull.
