This may be my favorite place in the world.
The woven cottage/birds nest decor and lighting are so unimaginably beautiful that it drew us in despite having other plans. We were then welcomed with a quaint hand-written style cocktail menu filled with well-blended, innovative and balanced cocktails featuring home-made concoctions that all looked and tasted incredible. These are the kinds of drinks you see in a top-rated cocktail bar anywhere in the world. The 1AM friend is one of the best drinks I've tasted.
And then the food: the menu is vast and filled with sharing plates that are perfect to be shared and are crafted perfectly. The standouts were the charred cabbage with miso sauce and bacon, the zucchini fritters with (a delightfully rich and different) sweet chili sauce, and the chicken and leek yakitori with whipped tofu; all so brilliantly thought out, perfectly cooked and seasoned and then beautifully presented. The desserts left us speechless - they have to be tried. The chili chorizo pizza was good - a little soggy in the middle from the grease but still amazing in general.
And wow, the music could not have been selected better either. The low tempo ethereal house music fit the vibe just past sunset and into late night so perfectly.
To top it all off, the service (especially Rahul) was phenomenal. He was so knowledgeable and attentive while also being hands-off but opinionated when requested. We could not have asked for better.
It is pricey, but not unreasonably so. This kind of place would be 5-10x more expensive anywhere else in India or globally and it would be deservedly packed.
This whole experience was perfect. Really, this is much more than a pizzeria - any one of the areas it excels in should be enough to draw you to this place.
This will be my first recommendation to anyone visiting the Anjuna/Vagator area. I already miss it. There's only one uncomfortable question to ask about this place - why isn't it busy...
Read moreWe made our way through quaint roads to finally land at @ComoAguaGoa at around 12:45 pm and boy were we the only ones there! But all this changed very swiftly. Almost immediately after we ordered our apéritif’s the place started filling swiftly. What I loved about the space was its proximity to the beach and the cool drafts that we were constantly exposed to. ❤️ . Soon we encountered an elaborate and extensive menu and we did try to order something but they all sounded delicious. Eventually we left it to the waiter who suggested 2 pizza’s to us. We started off with the Hot Honey and Double Pepperoni. This was with a Tomato-Basil sauce, Fresh Mozzarella & Pepperoni. This was spectacular, to say the least! There was a bounty of pepperoni that made every bit delicious to the core. The Mrs., @munchatti and the daughter, @nehasumitran both loved this pizza. We followed this up with the Hot Head, based on a house made hot sauce, mozzarella, jalapeños, sautéed chestnut mushrooms, pimento peppers, roasted garlic and basil ricotta mousse. This was a vegetarian pizza which stole the show for me. Much layered and delicious to the core. I could have stopped at just 2 slices of each but I found myself killing everything that was on offer. Delish! . A tip I’d like to offer the chefs here is to serve a little of the base sauce to eat up all the crunchy cornicione of the pizza. I found all 3 of us leaving this behind cause it felt too dry. . I’d almost retired after this feast but the daughter and the wife wanted to round their meal off with some desert. They asked for a Tiramisu and a Dark Chocolate Mousse with candied Almonds. I couldn’t resist myself and took a wee bite of both and they were just delectable! . All in all a must visit if you’re in the vicinity and if you love Neapolitan pizzas, that are slow fermented for 36 to 72 hours. Thanks much for recommending this place to us...
Read moreGreat Food, Disappointing Service
I recently dined at Como Agua and had a mixed experience that left me torn between the delicious food and the lackluster service. Let's start with the positives: the food was absolutely fantastic. From the appetizers to the main course, every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The chefs truly deserve commendation for their culinary skills.
However, the same cannot be said for the service. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the staff were disorganized and inattentive. The server who took our order forgot to place an order of main course with the kitchen, when followed up they mentioned the serve assigned to us had left for the day and now they can’t give the main course as they have stopped taking orders.
To make matters worse, when we attempted to address our concerns with the management, the response of the server was that the restaurant manager is playing pool and we can’t disturb him to ask and come and talk to us, showing us the manager who was playing pool. we were met with a dismissive attitude and a complete lack of apology. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for them.
It’s quite shocking to see despite of the server going and telling the restaurant manager the situation, he decided to continue playing pool and didn’t even bother to talk or come to our table for even a courtesy sake.
In conclusion, while the food here is undeniably delicious, the disappointing service significantly detracted from the overall experience. Unless improvements are made in the service department, I would hesitate to recommend this...
