Decor: 2 out of 5 stars Service: 1 out of 5 stars Food quality: 1 out of 5 stars Price: Unrealistic (very low)
Having driven past this place many times, today we (myself and my hubby), thought to check it out.
Interior Decor: On entering, the "Highway Kitchen" I found that in size, it resembled an aircraft hanger. The decor was kind of rustic East-meets-West that dissolved in the middle into some kind of nightmarish Punjabi Dhaba.
The seating arrangement consisted of wooden cots. Normally, the Punjabis will seat on it with legs folded and food plate in front of them on the cot itself. Here, the customers have a table in front so you end up sitting at the edge of the cot - right on the hard wooden support of the cot - any other way would be even more uncomfy. Clearly, the owners have not tried it out themselves. 2 out of 5 stars
Food: Since it was late evening and too early for dinner, we ordered pani-puri for starters. It came quickly enough. The stuffing consisted of just potatoes. The water was spicy and the sweet tamrid sauce was watered down.
Next we ordered Pav Bhaji. Believe it or not, the bhaji was made from some ready-to-eat north-Indian gravy like thing - thick, light orange with a few peas in it (imagine murg-chicken-makhani but only the gravy). There was a wedge of lime, a teaspoon of diced onion and two wedges of pav. Never in my life have I tasted such 3rd-rate pav-bhaji. 1 out of 5 stars
Service: Waiter came quickly enough (there were only 2 other customers). Having taken our orders and delivered the first dish, he vanished. We actually joked that he might have retired for the day and gone home. Despite there being hardly any customes at that time, service was awful and slow and the waiter seemed to suffer from amnesia as we had to remind him of what was orderd. 1 out of 5 stars
Price: Cheaper than a road-side gada. I'm guessing they were trying to lure customers purely on the price front as nothing else was up to the mark which is a pity because the place and its location definitely has huge potential.

Read moreI recently visited a restaurant and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. There were several factors that contributed to this negative experience, including the quality of the food, the service provided by the staff, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
Firstly the onion salad (laccha pyaaz) provided as sides for the dishes were stale and lacked freshness. It was clear that the salad had been sitting out for quite some time and had not been prepared with care. This affected the overall quality of the dish and left me feeling disappointed.
Secondly the staff at the restaurant appeared to be ignorant and unresponsive. They seemed disinterested in customer service and were not attentive to requests or concerns. This left me feeling undervalued as a customer.
Thirdly the music in the restaurant was too loud and distracting. It made it difficult to hold a conversation with my friend along with me.
Finally, the dal makhani that I ordered was made of Rajma, which is a deviation from the traditional preparation method. I was disappointed by the lack of commitment to traditional recipe and felt that the dish did not live up to my expectations.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant to others and would advise them to look for alternative...
Read moreAverage heavily overpriced food.... Staff appears ignorant and recommends the highest priced chef's special dishes..which are actually combos also (being not listed in menu ..the customer doesn't come to know...) So we ordered the breads extra... When the dish n additionals came..we were told they are complimentary but in bill we were being charged same as combos... (Also average kebab costs 250-350+ Naan 50-75+ mojito around 250.. however in combo same set surprisingly costs around 950...n we were not given the mojito which the staff forgot. ...but very courteous to offer when we were leaving after paying bill n trying to give the feedback..)
We ended up wasting food ..as well as paying lot extra... Also on every high recommendations of staff..we ordered chicken takatak n kandari kebab...both were very average n actually takatak had less taste n more spice....(combo price 750....i.e. chicken gravy + one kulcha naan...)
If going...plz b very careful of staff recommendations who seem to b only interested in meeting daily sales target by pasting the costliest dish on Ur pocket... Average overpriced otherwise..... Bogmalo beach nearby has much...
