Had a really bad experience at this place. After a really tiring morning of visiting different places, we finally ended up at this place to have some good lunch, since we saw that they served Thalis and we were craving for one. They kept us waiting for so long, i could say almost 30-40 mins. Later they told us that the dishes we had selected didn't have some of the items available currently. (We had ordered a special fish Thali). When they served the food, some stuff was missing from the menu, no fish ambotic was available (the main delicacy of the fish thali) which they replaced with other veg dishes. Food was too spicy and one of my family member just left half of the food since it was very spicy. We expected something good after making us wait for such a long time after a really tiring journey but the food was no good. We nearly left the restaurant at about 4:00 and since we were so late we missed out on some of our tourist destinations to visit. If we talk about the Ambience, it was really good and peaceful.Maybe alot of people did have a really good experience at this place, but my overall experience at this place was the worst.I would never visit this place next time i travel to Goa.
Edit: I'm not sure about how to reply to comments here but this happened like 6-7 months back, and we were a total of 6 people who visited the restaurant. I don't remember everything about it but we had ordered 3 special thalis and 3 normal ones. After making us wait for a long time the staff itself came and told us that some items aren't available, and we were so upset, we asked the staff why didn't you tell us that this isn't available at the start and he didn't have any reply. If the staff would have told us in the very few minutes we placed the order, we would have ordered something else but after making us wait for 30-40mins it was useless....Like fish and some curry wasn't given in our Thali whereas we had ordered fish, we came to this place to specially eat seafood...those things were replaced by some vegetable (I don't exactly remember what it was) Yes there were options to select but all the seafood wasn't available, we didn't have any prawns, fish, crabs or anything like that. I wanted to write a review at that time but i totally forgot the name of the restaurant, and now I came accross this restaurant and i had to write this review....i see that many people had a very good experience here..... Maybe your restaurant is really good but I'm just stating what happened the day i visited your restaurant, am not stating any false things, this is exactly what had happened, also yes we did get a small discount for what had happened, but does that makeup for a bad experience for a tourist and our time that was wasted? Where we missed out on some locations? and i have the right to express my opinion about this place. No hate to your restaurant :) Maybe since it was a long time back you won't remember about...
Read moreKuzner sits along the Candolim-Sinquerim road, dressed in brown wood and housed in what seems like a bungalow that has stepped right out of an arthouse Hindi film. Its rustic wooden framework lends it an old world charm. I don’t know whether it is that ancient; but the huge balconies on the first floor, the matured decor, the homely porch, and the warmth of the colours within make you think it has seen many a summer frolic along in Candolim. Very charming indeed, and it has all the aspects of nostalgia that Goa wants you to resurrect within you when you visit the state for a vacation.
We ordered the Chicken Masala, the Methi Makhanmalai, and plain chapatis. We did want to try the naans, but the ‘tandoor’ is open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We went there on a Wednesday.
The Chicken Masala was delightfully wrapped in the flavours of spice; meat chunks were sprinkled generously into the gravy; and the chapatis tempered the dish adequately enough. The Methi Makhanmalai was silky smooth in consistency, had a buttered texture, and mesmerised our palate enough for us to sing its praises. (The prices aren’t out of this world and that helped us form a favourable impression as well.)
Service was non-intrusive, well-paced, and we loved the fact that no one fawned over us. The server was attentive, gave us enough time to go through the menu, took down our order patiently, and made himself available whenever we needed to re-order the chapatis.
Needless to say, we definitely recommend Kuzner. I don’t know what the name 'Kuzner' stands for. To me, it seemed one of a kind--attractive--and was one of those names that make you smile on a summer afternoon. Which is exactly what the food did to us that...
