Halt for two nights - 27.12 - 29.12.2019 Our stay started off with a rocky start. We were offered two premium and two executive rooms. We were told that the premium rooms are better due their pool facing feature. Awesome! we decide to take it. Now the plethora of problems start. The room gave a musty and mouldy smell. The wardrobe stank as well. The shower curtains had blood stains. The bathroom looked like it was built in 1947, when the resort was probably still considered a 4 star property. The A/C was never cleaned and you see a nice lining of dust in the vents. The headboards on the bed had stains. The astonishing part was that the executive rooms were bigger, better and cheaper(atleast that's what we were told) than the premium rooms. Now comes the best part. You expect that with all this troubles that we were facing, the staff would be kind enough and provide us a change of room. Sadly, we had to learn it the hard way, that they don't really give a damn about their customers. We were only fed sweet words and beyond that nothing was done. Of course, after having a chat with the GM, we were offered another rooms (even though they constantly stuck to the "WE are completely booked" policy). The second room provided was more of the same experience. Probably, stepped down a notch. By now, most of our evening plans were messed up. We were asked to continue with our plans and that everything would be sorted out when we were back. Alas! what a lie. Little did we know that more problems lie in store for us. Apparently, they offer valet parking because the parking space is non-existent. But when we got back to the resort in the evening, we literally had to pick up a fight to get a parking spot because the valet was adamant to park our car, citing the reason that they do not have parking spots. Hmm, I wonder if this resort expects you to arrive in a helicopter. Ok, now we compromise and spend the night in the room provided to us. Any customer would expect a compensation or atleast that the hotel meets them mid-way. But it didn't seem that they were interested in entertaining any of our demands. The only answer we got was - "Please talk to the person through whom you made the booking". Thank you very much for such consideration. We were even told that we could search for a new hotel if we want and they would refund the amount. Where are we supposed to go and search for a hotel in the middle of the night? We spent most of the morning, trying to get a change of room (which they finally provided and was far better but still not 4 star standard), asking for a compensation (to no avail) and asking for hot water to take a shower (even I have hot water 24/7 at home). I waited for half an hour to be given atleast a bucket of hot water when I was told it would arrive in 5 mins. Anyway, with the experience I had, I gave up and simply took a shower in cold water. I gave up asking for anything after the callous nature in which my friends and me were handled. Another friend of mine was supposed to join us at De Alturas as well and I immediately told him to find some other place. Most of our Goa vacation was marred by the sorry experience that we had at De Alturas which I will never forget. I won't give a comment on the breakfast offered. It wasn't great, but we could live with it. Once again, thank you very much De Alturas for teaching me a very valuable lesson - a star rating can sometimes just...
Read moreHotel is good I have both good n bad experiences. Location and ambiance of hotel :- it's not on the main road but it's 200 meter inside from the main road. Many restaurants are in the visinity of this hotel. Location is mandolin and you have all the famous beaches like calangute, baga, anjuman etc. Near by. Vicinity is lively and has a good night life. You could get scooter and cars on rent just outside the hotels. Scooter is the best means to commute in goa since roads are not wide so you can easily move in traffic on scooter. Hotel has good ambiance nice swimming pool coffee shop it's like you can spend 1 day in hotel itself. Room size is sufficient, ac is working and good housekeeping provided by hotel. Hotel location is as good that you can spend your restful afternoon in the hotel room since the day time in goa is very bright hot and sunny.
Stay in hotel with my little ones:- My children have enjoyed a lot this stay. Room size is good so they good play area inside the room also which gave us little relief. My elder daughter is 6 and younger one is 1 yr so I was worried about the food arrangements for him. I have requested to the dinning staff to help me out in this since I have brought my cooker and Dalia stuff with me. They have agreed for the same (thank god) and provide me dalia-khichdi made for my youger son. Hotel ambience is good they have nice swimming pool with two fountains, coffee shop, spa is going to start there. YOU CAN SPEND A FULL DAY IN HOTEL WITH YOUR FAMILY WITHOUT GOING OUTSIDE.
Food & services:- For Food I want to give 3.5 out of 5 sice menu is repeated. But if you are with small kids than I will suggest that you should go for combined dinner and breakfast becoz and breakfast timing is 7:30 am to 1030 and dinner time is 0730pm to 1000 so it will be easier for you to manage your trip and after dinner also you can go to near by places so first you finish the far places and reserve the near market places for after dinner. Vala huye beach has good crowd even after 12.
From services point of view I will give this hotel 3out of 5. That's not because the services is poor., Services are good , this is something regarding the service staff. I wanna share my experience here which has disappointed me a lot. I have forgot my room card key at dinning area but nobody helped me out with the same and it costs me 500 bucks. Service staff is little greedy. Hotel is occupied by foreigners most of the time for long durations and during checkouts they are giving heavy tips to the staff members which ranging between 1000-3000rs. So when you give then 100 or 200 it is not meaning full for them. In my case I have given him the tip I assure from him that my room is ok and when I went for check out housekeeping dept. Told that the person is telling that the hand shaver is broken and I was very disappointed at that time but somehow I manage to convince them that the shaver is broken at the time of check-in. Otherwise I have to pay them 2000 bucks. So the crux is you should not believe your house keeping staff and check the room thoroughly just after check-in after report if something uneven.
Hotel fellows are extremely profesional in nature so don't expect any thing from them. ITS A...
Read moreStrongly not recommend this property!! We visited GOA in the of month Jan 2019 with corporate Group. We would like to highlighted the concerned points towards the hotel services & staff.
About Mr. Sudama is a front line manager and he is the only person who will take the decision with full on attitude like a property owner and disrespectful behavior and un-supportive/cooperative.
The Hotel team will not focus on the services & amenities and not even concerned about the customer priority and feedback. Just focus on the business and how will make the money without efforts. Hotel team will provide the services to you whether you like it or not don’t matter to them…The hotel is claimed that 4 star category but provide the services like a 1 or 2 star category.
Good things about the hotel: walking distance on the Beach is 500mts. It has a small swimming pool and its clean 5/5 on that.. Bad things: There is strange way, rather rude, the staff behaves and speaks to all the guests in general. No warm welcome to the Guest upon arrival at Hotel Their body language is also not positive. In hospitality it is taught to be courteous to the guest, ask questions in a polite manner & your standing position should be welcoming. The staff here have a tendency to roam like they are bouncers, forget about speaking politely and bending as a gesture of hospitality. Mostly I found the staff to be very raw in their tone.
The Hotel team was arguing with our guest and charged on the unconsumed items like Mini bar etc from the respective guest and that amount/bill supposed to be cleared at the time of checkout but it is cleared on the Road after check out in the BUS.
Mr. Sudama was informed to their staff that the tea/coffee has to be served on the disposal cup during the conference for 70 pax and do not served on table during the conference boz it’s a self service process and confirmed that they don’t have sufficient cups for 70 pax.
Service: 1/5 Bad service at a slow speed. Rooms are not cleaned properly. The front desk Manager staff also have a habit of arguing and justifying. Clearly they have not been taught to speak to guests.
Food: 2/5 : Non-veg items was not available on the Lunch buffet except the chicken biryani but without chicken. We had complained but manager response that will give you next time. No sufficient foods are available at the Restaurant and with no Varity/quality. Restaurant was too small for the number of guests which meant guests had to eat breakfast outside by the pool with the smell of the sewage lorries.
Rooms: 3/0 The rooms facing the pool side have a good view. The interiors of room had damp walls. The bathroom door was not locking. Locking the main door of the room needed a lot of effort, you need to be strong to do so. A/C was noisy.. The doors and the walls could be seen with unfinished white cement marks. Also bathroom door was eaten by termites.
We had never ever faced such kind of unprofessional behavior staff /services provided by the Hotel team management. We have never expected this kind of response from De...
