NOVA Kitchen & Bar ( Restaurant) — Restaurant in Goa

Owner/Manager/Waiter determined it would not be possible to do a prawn sizzler (880Rs) with a garlic butter sauce, or even suggest putting this on the side, insisting I needed to order prawns from the house specials for this (900Rs for medium prawns (not king)). As you can see from the photo, the sizzler comes with chips, noodles and sauteed vegetables; I asked specifically for some more vegetables, as I can't eat potato/rice/noodles, saying Gobi, capsicum etc; this was not an issue when placing my order, and I trusted his advice. A decorative salad came on the side of the prawns, not a salad, and no vegetables. After insisting there was Gobi in my decorative salad, a lie I had to contest three times before saying I knew what Gobi was, he begrudingly went and asked the chef to prepare some vegetables, returning to the table and asking "are you happy now?"... Joy was not my feeling at the time.

So, if I'd just asked for garlic butter on the side of the sizzler, I could of had Sautéed veg, mashed potato/chips, and rice/noodles, and saved 20Rs.

Bill paid in full - did not leave the usual 10% tip. I hate being lied to, and expected so much more given the reviews this restaurant has. I hope this review discourages/prevents...

I recently visited Nova Kitchen and Bar in Goa and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the decor was tasteful and modern.
