3 start service in a 5 star nutshell!!
My recent stay at Novotel Goa run by All Accor Group was unfortunately far from the five-star experience I anticipated. I traveled with 14 members of my family including senior citizens and kids. I booked 4 rooms on triple sharing. Upon returning back from the beach around 7 in the evening, I found that several amenities in my room were not functional. The locker was non-functional, the mini fridge was not cooling up to the standards, how it should be cooling, The electric kettle was not functional in all the rooms and the bed was of top most poor standards which was sagging from the middle as it was not single piece mattress. And FYI this extra bed mattress is paid as they charge for extra third person. The mattress was good enough to give backache to the guests on their vacation. And the bathroom latch was so tight that it was difficult for old-age family members and even ladies to put the latch. Even after replacing the kettle in one of the rooms, it was not at all clean, had a foul smell, and had rust all over from the inside, which was unhygienic to use. And the next morning there was a short circuit in one of the rooms due to the poor quality of the kettle kept at the room, which was later replaced. No towels were kept underneath the basin for guests. We had to ask several times for it. These issues should have been identified and addressed before my arrival.Instead, I had to spend a considerable amount of time in the evening from 7 till 11 o clock night during my stay coordinating with the hotel staff to get these problems fixed. I had a word with the hotel shift manager for the day and informed him about the issues we faced. While the staff were courteous and eventually resolved the issues, the delays significantly impacted my enjoyment and relaxation. I got to know from the hotel staff that these kind of issues are always there in the hotel and management doesn't take any measures to fix them.
We were there to celebrate 2 special occasions, and the hotel had promised to provide a cake which they did later at night when we all fed up and planned to go out for dinner. However, the cake was delayed, and it seemed the hotel had no intention of making the celebration special. Upon informing the reception in person about these issues, the executive named Hemanth was courteous enough to provide spa vouchers. However, this gesture was totally useless to us as it was raining, and we were on a tight schedule waiting to celebrate our occasion. I felt this was a business gimmick to extract more money from customers rather than providing the service for the price we paid.
Extra towels were also not provided in time and one of the room was left uncleaned despite telling them.
I must acknowledge that the services and food at the restaurant were good and met the standards. Additionally, the swimming pool area was the only highlight of our stay to shift away from our disappointments.
A hotel of this caliber should ensure that all room amenities are in perfect working order before guests arrive. I am deeply dissatisfied and urge the management to take this feedback seriously and improve their maintenance procedures to prevent guests from having a similar experience.
Guests deserve to receive the quality of service they pay for without having to deal with such frustrations!
Until Novotel Accor Group can guarantee a truly five-star experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience Our stay at this so-called 5-star hotel was, without exaggeration, one of the worst hospitality experiences we’ve ever encountered. From start to finish, it was a frustrating, stressful, and deeply unsatisfying ordeal that left us wondering how this property ever earned its star rating.
Check-In Nightmare The experience began with an unforgivable blunder. Our booking was supposedly under a completely different name (Pulkit Sharma) which was incorrect. Despite showing all valid booking details, booking voucher, ID proofs, and credit card number and payment confirmations, we were treated like intruders. The front desk staff were utterly unhelpful, lacked basic courtesy, and seemed completely clueless. No welcome drink, no greeting just blank stares and an attitude that screamed “you’re not our problem.” It was insulting and incredibly unprofessional.
Appalling Cleanliness & Hygiene The room was in a disgraceful state. Old food remains (lemon), used clothing tags, a stray slipper were found under the bed and sofa. This room had clearly not been cleaned properly since long. The balcony was filthy and the drainage area was as if it hadn’t been cleaned for months. The bathroom was full of black fungus growing everywhere on the floor making it not only disgusting but a potential health hazard. Hygiene standards were non-existent.
Pathetic Service and Staff Attitude The staff were mostly indifferent, disinterested, and untrained. Every single request had to be repeated multiple times. Just for example, the dinner order we gave at 9:30pmpm was delivered at 11:30pm. Forget prompt service even the most basic assistance felt like a burden to them. During checkout, no one came to help with luggage. The overall service was slow, unprofessional, and far below even 3-star standards.
Missing Basic Amenities Despite being a triple occupancy booking (two adults and a child), the room was prepared for two people only. Every day we had to call for an extra towel, slipper, and toiletries which were still incomplete. Items like loofahs, shaving kits, combs, and shower caps were entirely missing. For a 5-star hotel, this is inexcusable.
Poor Room Lighting and Infrastructure The room was so dim that even with all lights switched on, it felt like we were in a cave. No mirror in the main room. Worse yet, some of the electrical switchboards were loose and potentially dangerous.
Breakfast Disaster The breakfast area was a total mess. Understaffed and overwhelmed, the restaurant couldn’t handle the number of guests. There weren’t enough seats, cutlery was missing, and most food items were cold and bland. The few dishes that were acceptable were overshadowed by the chaos and poor management.
Too much waiting time at Valet Parking The valet parking service was another let-down. We waited 15–20 minutes every single time we needed our car. This kind of inefficiency is shocking for a premium hotel and shows a complete lack of logistical planning.
The Only Pros- • The location is convenient and centrally located. • The pool was large good and kids friendly.
Final Verdict: This hotel is in no way deserving of a 5-star rating. Lack of hygiene & cleanliness, clueless staff, missing amenities, and disorganized services made our stay utterly miserable. We left frustrated, disappointed, and with a firm resolve never to return. If you’re expecting a luxurious, relaxing experience do yourself a favour and...
Read moreI recently Stayed at Novotel Goa Candolim for 3 Nights with My Family.. There are some pros and cons during my stay so i would like to write those things honestly so that Management can Consider to improve things.
Pros Biggest Pro of this Hotel was Pool Area.My Family really enjoyed our time there.. Although Slide area need improvement regarding their Floor because it's messed up at couple of area and might hurt your ankle area.
Rooms are good in terms of size and decor..
Room cleaning service was Great, specially a guy ( sorry i forgot his name ), he made sure we had everything which we needed while stay..
Cons Biggest Con of this hotel, they mentioned 5 Star Hotel but I don't think they are. They don't have enough staff to attend the guest or welcome it..We have been many 5 & 4 star hotels and resorts earlier but how they welcome thier guest is very very unprofessional.. When we arrived , there was no one who ask even for water or come us to ask things..You have to go to the reception and informed the things... We got the room 3 hours earlier before our checkin time which is very thankful and great gesture but person who alloted the room didn't bother to take us to the room...He simply said there is lift , you can go there, and on 3 floor you have a room and wants us to inform the bell boy for our luggage and room number...Is this serious we are paid guest of your hotel and that is not our job to find our room by ourself..
They have good breakfast spread but we don't liked the taste and in 3 days we didn't find any Major changes in breakfast buffet menu..Just 2-3 changes they do everyday and it's done..
3rd - Which is really enjoyed us during our stay and ruin our 1 day because of that.. On our 2nd day during Stay, there was some 200-250 Male Stag entry in Hotel and Frankly it's messed up..I beleive they should not take booking for that much stag male or if they take then some restriction should be there...When we gone for swim in pool, there was like 150 Male around ( I m not saying they did some misbehaving) but it's very obvious any family won't go there when 150-200 ONLY MALE population come in pool area..and that time i didn't found any other family there in pool for obvious reason
At the End I don't think Novotel candolim goa justify the price which they charged.. I stayed Hyatt last year near by this hotel and Trust me you will feel 5 Star Property feel their there in terms of everything..
I may not visit Novotel candolim goa again for the issues which I briefly mentioned...
