I stumbled at this restaurant by chance today and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Me and my wife went there for dinner and they have the best prawns curry, prawns masala fry (rechad style),prawns rawa fry, Steam rice and kingfish rawa fry. Although they have jumbo sized kingfish and prawns, everything tastes heavenly. A must try is their home made ice creams. We had the rosella icecream and coffee icecream. Both were out of this world. This place serves the best food I have tasted in Goa. That too at extremely reasonable rates. Also drank 2 cokes and one passion fruit juice. All the above food cost us only 2160₹ which is quite a steal. The food is delicious and prepared in authentic Goan style. If you are craving for some delicious Goan meal, you cannot miss this one. The ambience is humble and seating is decent. Nothing too flashy and typical Goan style road side hotel which is easy to miss. But the food makes up for everything.
The owner Nella is superb to chat with. Special thanks to Francis (our server) who was prompt and humble from the get go. You can blindly follow his recommendations when it comes to ordering.
If you are in Goa you have to visit this place atleast once. The quality of fish, and prawns is top tier and the preparation will make you wanna have an extra stomach!
Keep it up...
Read moreThis quaint place steals your soul. Their lip smacking food is opium for your heart. I went into a trance and was drunk on the awesome food and hospitality. We had stir fried crabs, Rechardo Milk fish, and prawn Curry rice and six scoops of homemade coconut and avacado iceceam (trust me their scoops and portion sizes are large just like their heart) as I'm writing this review sitting in the living room of my home in arpora, my mouth is watering. I ate so much food... After such a long time. Their fresh lime soda is made from lemons from their gardens, ditto for their iceceams. Most of their food is grown in their gardens and the family gets the fresh catch for the days themselves. Their Rechardo masala takes an entire day to be made and their cherry wine was out of this world. Nella the owner was so sweet, warm, down to earth, and welcoming, that at the end if the meal, I was almost crying in my heart that she wasn't adopting me... A must visit place for every Goan food lover. This place serves absolutely delectable, awesome, authentic and very very tasty Goan food (take this from a Goan herself) and you're a fool if you haven't gone to this...
Read moreLet me start by saying that while I had problems with the food the owner was super sweet and did not charge me so while I thought I may not come back now I definitely will try what she is recommending. It's safe to say avoid the Goan sausages here, I had a sausage curry rice and while the curry tasted good the goan sausage was terrible, the meat was chewy and partly uncooked... I have been eating goan sausage since when I was a kid, and was super disappointed, The prices also seem to be slightly on the higher side a sausage curry rice cost me Rs 400 and there were 2 medium sized sausages floating in my curry but that's ok it's probably a Rs 50 variation which is acceptable... Now back to the sausage, the skin was so tough that I just couldn't cut through the sausage I had to struggle and squeeze the meat out, and lo and behold there were lumps of fat in the sausage and a bit of meat ...strange....So here's a confession I had always given this place a miss, because of my gut instinct, but a friend couldn't stop praising it so I came here..... Well one always needs to try new places ....The only reason they get a 3 star is because the...
