Robin's ark is the goto place in South Goa when it comes to lunch and dinner.
The restaurant is located in Cavelossim beside the beach. The outside view is airy and pleasant. Since we went for lunch, we chose a table inside. The main server, Rupam, welcomed us. The ambiance of the restaurant is very relaxed and the tables are arranged well despite the lack of space.
Mr.Kanrick D’mello, owner of the restaurant, suggested the signature dishes from the menu.
For starters we ordered
Snow white forest mushroom cappuccino
It is a melange of mushroom puree served with garlic bread
Lobster and mussels chowder
Broth of scallops Arabian prawns snapper and blue lip mussels served with fresh fennel baguette matured Butter
Thick soup with lot of flavor quantity is just enough
Malabari style chicken fry
It is fried chicken tossed in South India spices and curry leaves
The spices really fill-up the mouth, and is best served with alcoholic beverages.
Hanging chicken cafreal
Charred grill chicken in traditional Goan cafreal masala served with fries
Cajun-spiced fish in margarita sauce
Red snapper marinated in Cajun spice and tequila
Asian inspired chicken soup
Clarified chicken stock, with chicken dumplings and mushrooms, garlic bread
For the main course
We ordered
veg sizzlers
Chopped vegetable patties on a bed of confit sauce with fries
To our surprise, it was a pretty decent platter.
For dessert
Pancake Sushi
A pancake rolled in the form of sushi with Nutella and banana filling served with whipped cream and apple crumble.
One of the decent dessert I have had in a long time. I expected it to be really sweet considering the ingredients, but the dish was well balanced and did not give me a toothache.
Drinks
1 whiskey sour
Basically whiskey and lime juice
Tiramisu martini
Kahlua, Bailey’s milk almond and cinnamon powder
Overall experience:
The food served is of the best quality and chef Adani puts heart and soul in making the food.
The restaurant isn't usually crowded in the morning and afternoons.
But after 8 pm it starts filling up, also the lighting in the evening makes the hotel stand out and adds value to the ambiance.
The service is not so fast but it is worth waiting for the food they serve.
Since it is outdoorsy, it will be hot in the summer afternoons.
The place is good for family dinners and friends get together, with ample...

We're Goans from South Goa, but don't live here. We came down for a wedding, lived in Panjim for a week, and returned to stay at Hati Mahal in Cavelossim. Over the past 2 weeks, we have dined at several restaurants, where the beef was tough & the pork had a thick layer of fat- I will write separately about these places. Of all those we visited, Reggae Haven was decent (more to come when I write about it).
×××××× Now, to Robin's Ark- we couldn't have found a better place to celebrate my brother's & his wife's wedding anniversary!
The restaurant layout, decor and spaciousness is what attracted us here. It was a weekday & at 10pm when we walked in, the place was filled to capacity, with another 10 peeps waiting for a seat ahead of us.
A special thanks to Tina D'Costa, who was in-charge last evening, and was able to seat all 10 before us, and our group was seated outside among the palm trees, all within 15 mins of our arrival & the weather was just nice!
Tina had full control of the restaurant which seemed to have atleast 75 hungry peeps demanding her attention constantly. Her efficient servers were there on hand attentive to our needs. Everything on the menu seemed available.
We started with a few Mocktails - Mango Harmony, Banana Bonkers, Virgin Colada & Blue Ocean to name a few & all were great.
Snacks- Mexican Chicken cigar, Beer batter fish n chips and hot Chicken wings, delicious & good quantity for the prices🙂
Main course- Goan Sausage Pulav, Daal Tadka & Chicken kadai.
Every item of food was delicious & later when we met the chef - Bidan, to thank him, we realized that he was a Bengali who cooked a delicious Goan Sausage pulav better than some of the so called "Goan" Restaurants & Clubs. Even the Daal Tadka was spot on delicious; the Mexican Chicken Cigars & the beer batter fish, tasty without being drowned in oil.
It took a Bengali Chef to come to Goa, and dish out authentic Goan & Indian fare!
Oh & there was a live band playing and yes, we managed to get on the floor for the last dance! 😀
I would highly recommend ROBIN'S ARK to everyone- don't waste your time & money elsewhere.
Than you Tina & team for a...
Read moreWe visited Robin's Ark during the week between Christmas and New Year and loved the place. It was buzzing with an extremely talented three-piece band playing a range of music from retro seamlessly segueing into Bollywood to gel with the tourist mood. We were so impressed with the food because every single thing we ordered (and we ordered a spread of at least 5 starters, 8 different mains and a couple of desserts) was superb. Special mention to the Eggplant Parmigiana which was to die for.
So taken in were we by the place that when we had a birthday celebration to plan, we could only think of Robinsark.
Robin and his sons Kendrick and Kenberg were warm and helpful with the menu planning. An entire section of the outdoor area was reserved for us. The package included unlimited starters for 2 hours, and it was great to see that when they said unlimited, they lived up to the promise. We had the dahi ke kabab, spanokopitas, chicken cheese kababs and madrasi prawns all of which were melt in the mouth and finger-licking good. The way they served the main course buffet was well planned with salads served in individual bowls, sufficient quantities of the main dishes and excellent desserts. Would definitely recommend the mango panna cotta and the seradura.
Despite the fact that it was a Tuesday when the restaurant does not have a live band, they organized a band that night which was really nice of them and which definitely added to the success of the party.
The staff there were warm, prompt, helpful and ensured that no guest was left unattended to.
All in all I would recommend the place for parties or even just evenings out as one of the best places in South Goa, for the hospitality, the food and the ambience.
I give the place...
