Spice Studio Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

We had a really bad experience at Spice Studio. I was celebrating my engagement and we wanted to have an intimate dinner with my parents. This was also for us to see the hotel as we are looking to organise our wedding reception. We were seated inside and the AC was too cold. We asked our server (with glasses) atleast 4 times to switch it off but he completely ignored us. My mother even got up from her seat to inform him again. He walked away from her while she was talking to him mid sentence and switched it off. Very disrespectful. We were there a long time and our order was not even taken. Our experience got much worse when he attended another table who was seated after us for their drink order. That was when we decided to leave. My parents were very unhappy with the service. My fiance asked to speak to the manager and our server just sent another waiter to us. We explained to Vijay what happened and he apologised and let us leave the restaurant. As we were exiting the hotel, Vijay came back to us to offer cake and another table where he would attend to us personally but by then we were not interested and my parents also were not willing to go back. Customer service goes a long way and for a hotel like Alila to have such bad service is very telling of bad...

A Magical Culinary Experience at Spice Studio!

Visited Spice Studio yesterday, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. We were looking for recommendations, and that’s when Chef ARUN personally stepped in. We told him we wanted something spicy but balanced, and he assured us he would craft something special.

And then, the magic happened

The first dish was an incredible Malabar paratha topper with mutton, caramelized onions, wrapped and cooked to perfection in a banana leaf—an explosion of flavors and textures.

The second dish was another masterpiece—Kandhari Chicken . Words truly can’t do justice to how amazing it was!

A huge shoutout to Chef Arun for his creativity and passion and to the entire team for their outstanding hospitality.

We came here for dinner last night and the food was delicious. It was a bit of a struggle ordering the fresh fish but when the server sent the chef out to discuss with us (!) we agreed something which then tasted divine.

There is a complimentary tray with some puffed chips and a selection of dips which is lovely. We then opted for the catch of the day red snapper which was marinated and melted in the mouth. We had the goan curry with prawns which was also nice. The potato dish was insanely good and the bread that’s like little strips all together was delicious. All in all, recommend you go for catch of the day with some of the marinades - they can fillet for you too if you don’t want to deal with the faff.

Found my drink a bit disappointing but that was made by the bar next door - it was very sweet as was meant to be a non alcoholic...
