Cafe Tato is a long-standing favorite for vegetarian food lovers and a well-known spot in the heart of Margao. Known for its consistency and variety of classic Indian and Goan vegetarian dishes, it's a reliable place to grab a quick and filling meal. The location is quite central and easy to find, though during peak hours, the café gets very crowded, and parking can be a bit of a challenge. Despite the rush, the staff manages to keep things moving at a reasonable pace, and the ambience remains pleasant and clean, even when the place is buzzing with activity. We tried their Rava Masala Dosa and Samosa with Tea, and everything was served hot and fresh. The dosa had a nice crisp texture, and the potato masala was well-prepared. The samosa was also decent—crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. The tea was the perfect companion to the snacks. Also gave their Shev Puri a try, and it was surprisingly good—flavourful, tangy, and fresh, with just the right balance of crunch and spice. It added a nice variety to the overall experience. While the food quality is consistent, there's room for improvement in both taste and service, especially during busier hours. Some dishes feel like they could use a little more attention to detail in flavor. Overall, Cafe Tato is a dependable spot for a simple, satisfying vegetarian meal—ideal for breakfast, tea-time snacks, or a light lunch. For a more peaceful experience, try visiting during off-peak hours. A solid option if you're looking for authentic Goan vegetarian bites at a reasonable price.

A Disappointing Experience That Does Not Come Close to Fine Dining Despite the label of “fine dining,” this restaurant misses the mark on several fronts, coming across as quite average. The upkeep and maintenance leave much to be desired; the condition of the restrooms, hand wash areas, and overall hygiene standards were notably lacking. The restaurant is divided into separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections, but the vegetarian section is poorly designed. The air conditioning is insufficient for the space, making the central area uncomfortably warm. The toilet in the non-veg section opens directly into the seating area and also there is an exposed hand wash station. The seating arrangement is cramped, offering little to no privacy, which detracts from the dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable, and the service was disappointing. There was no visible floor or restaurant manager overseeing the operations, which resulted in disorganized service and a lack of attention to detail. Overall, dining here was a letdown and did not live up to expectations.

I've always been a Tato Panaji fan so thought I will give Tato at Margao a try. I have been to this place a couple of times, it is conveniently located with ample parking space unlike the panjim outlet. I had Goan mix bhaaji which was delicious as always, the pooris were not very oily & were soft & crisp. The mirchi bhajiya served with coconut chutney and mushroom bhaaji is a must try. I must point that the Tato Margao service was commendable. The tea was a little sweet for our liking but the waiting staff immediately replaced it with tea without sugar. We were served quickly despite the restaurant being busy. Ill visit Tato's for its old charm, great taste, good service & fond memories.

1st of all, we ordered kingfish fry and they gave us something else in the name of kingfish. We tried to discuss it but the waiter was least interested. We literally had our lunch on dancing table, the table was like see-sawing, we again told them but they went completely ignorant about it, not even single, "Please move to another table" nothing. Sorry was a distant dream. Downstairs they told us we will get fish thali upstairs, I remember because I specifically asked for fish thali. After going and sitting upstairs, they were like we don't serve thali, you will have to order seperately all items. We did order seperately then, tired and hungry we were so, curry was okayish, kingfish fry as I mentioned above, was not kingfish, I can write it on stamp paper. I took my parents there because I had heard about TATOS so much but what a disappointing experience it was. Never visiting again ofcourse, also not recommending to anyone. A restaurant with so many branches across goa functioning so poorly is really...
