Review for Navtara Veg Restaurant, Margao (Opposite KTC Bus Stand)
⭐ 1/5
We recently had a disappointing experience at Navtara Veg Restaurant, hoping for a good meal due to its busy location. Unfortunately, the service and food quality didn’t meet our expectations.
First off, the restaurant was crowded, possibly due to its location opposite the KTC bus stand, yet the first floor remained closed, increasing the congestion on the ground floor. After a long wait, we were finally attended to, and we placed our order. But that was just the beginning of a series of disappointments.
The first item to arrive was a Masala dosa, which was a letdown. Instead of being thin and crispy, it was thick, burnt, and excessively oily. The chutney lacked flavor, and the sambar was bland. Then came a cheese dosa, which was served without any cheese at all. We had ordered two cups of coffee, which took forever to arrive, and when it finally did, the waiter brought three cups instead of two.
To make matters worse, we had ordered a paneer masala with two tandoori rotis for my son, but he was left waiting even after we finished our dosas. I had to call the waiter three times to remind him, and when he eventually brought something, it turned out to be pav bhaji, not what we had ordered. When we clarified this with him, he argued instead of rectifying the mistake immediately. Eventually, he took back the pav bhaji, but we still had to wait a long time for the actual dish.
When the paneer masala finally arrived, it was extremely oily and overloaded with chili, with no real flavor. By that point, we were completely unsatisfied with both the food and service and left the restaurant regretting our choice.
Overall, this experience was frustrating, and I would not recommend Navtara Veg Restaurant (Oppsite KTC Bus Stand Margao). The service was poor, and the food didn’t live up to even...
Read moreNavtara, a part of one of the rare chains offering 100% pure vegetarian cuisine in Goa, stands out positively, especially at its Madgao highway branch. For a devoted vegetarian, discovering a reliable eatery is a treasure, and Navtara appears to be a fitting choice.
The food, a crucial element of any dining experience, impresses with both taste and quality. The culinary offerings reflect a commitment to providing a delightful vegetarian menu. The rates, by local standards, are economical, making it an accessible choice for those seeking vegetarian options without straining the budget.
While the ambience at the Madgao highway branch might not be extraordinary, it meets the expectations for a casual dining experience. The restaurant's interior may not steal the spotlight, but it's the culinary offerings that take center stage.
Parking, unfortunately, poses a challenge, a common issue in many bustling areas. However, innovative solutions like parking on the roadside, as you did, can alleviate this concern, particularly during nighttime visits.
A noted hiccup during the visit was the slow service, attributed to a potential staff shortage during Diwali vacations. While this might be an occasional issue, it's essential to consider it within the context of peak holiday seasons.
In conclusion, Navtara's Madgao highway branch emerges as a haven for pure vegetarians in Goa. The taste and quality of the food, combined with economical pricing, make it a commendable choice. Despite minor challenges like parking and occasional service delays, Navtara remains a highly recommended option for those seeking reliable and verified 100% vegetarian dining...
Read moreDear Mr. Tavora,
I am writing to express our extreme disappointment with the unprofessional service we received from your staff at Navtara KTC on 24 March 2025, at approximately 19:22. The treatment we endured was not only unprofessional but also inhumane.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the upstairs AC area was closed off with a red barrier. We decided to sit downstairs under the fan. However, we saw two young staff members opening the barrier and heading upstairs, which led us to inquire with the cashier. The cashier informed us that we could go upstairs to be served.
After sitting upstairs, one of your staff members approached us and informed us that the AC was off and could not be turned on. We did not fully understand the explanation, but 10 minutes later, the same staff member approached us in a very rude manner, telling us that they could not serve us as the orders had closed upstairs. We kindly asked him to check with the cashier, who had originally allowed us upstairs. If orders were indeed closed, why were we permitted to go upstairs in the first place?
A third interaction with a staff member was even more upsetting. He approached us once again and, in a highly rude manner, reiterated that they could not serve us upstairs.
We find this treatment utterly unacceptable, especially as Goans, and believe that no customer should ever be subjected to such behavior. We felt humiliated in front of other customers and we are extremely disappointed by the staff's conduct.
We would appreciate your feedback on this matter.
Kind...
