A Hidden Gem in Candolim, Goa – The Local Table
If you're in Goa and looking for a truly authentic and heartwarming dining experience, The Local Table is an absolute must-visit. Tucked away in a small, cozy space, this restaurant might not boast grand interiors, but what it offers in return is far more valuable—genuine hospitality and unforgettable food.
The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth by the lovely owners. Their friendly nature and eagerness to engage made us feel right at home. It's rare these days to find a place where you're not just another customer, but a welcomed guest.
We tried the Chonak fish (rava fry), Mackerel fish, and Chicken Biryani—all of which were nothing short of exceptional. The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The biryani deserves a special mention for its rich aroma and unique masala, subtly infused with a coconutty flavor I’ve never encountered before. It was not only delicious but also deeply satisfying.
This little gem proves that size doesn’t matter when it comes to delivering a memorable culinary experience. Don’t judge it by its modest appearance—The Local Table is big on taste, warmth, and soul.
Highly recommended, and I genuinely hope more people discover and support this...
Read moreTHE LOCAL TABLE" is a restaurant, one can experience with a star-winning combination: classic atmosphere, fabulous ambiance, outstanding food, and exceptional service!
Right from the road, the entrance feeling is almost similar to a LOCAL village path. The atmosphere was layered by cool lighting, creating a casually cozy environment full of wonderful people. Tables and chairs were very clean and hygienic.
Every food item ordered was incredibly delicious! The fish items were guaranteed super fresh and satisfying! The Chicken Xacuti & Prawns Rava Fry is mouth-watering tasty. The drinks served were aromatic, refreshing, and flavorful!
The staff here genuinely cares about their guests. They were attentive, courteous, and pleasant. The service was perfect from beginning to end.
Every cuisine is prepared and well managed by experienced Chef Gaurish and his wife duo. They really could not have been better, so we relied upon their experience to select and create a display of customized lunch options, and they were spot-on for everything! It was all delicious and there is no need to even look at a menu. Finally, one should not miss their dessert Serradura after the meal.
Highly recommended for families, friends, and kids to enjoy the homely...
Read moreThis place is not for the ones who need cozy, exotic ambience with ordinary food options. This is a true food lovers' place. It's run by a couple and serves authentic Goan food with a few other options along. First time we went, we just went because I had been seeing this place on the way to Candolim, and the reviews were good, and got to have the best Chonak rawa fry we have had so far. We went again just for that Chonak Rawa fry and ended up trying a lot of other food too, and each was absolutely delicious. We had and loved these here: the Chonak rawa fry, the Kokum fenny that was not there on the menu, but served on request, Squid batter fried, crab xec xec, Mushroom butter garlic, Bruschetta, Veg Pulao (this is a must try too), Veg fried rice, Chicken cafreal and Potato cafreal and the Serradurra that I just could not stop myself from ordering again. The bill was ₹5060 for 4 of us, but we ate a lot and parcelled a few dishes as well. So the cost seemed worth. The couple who run the place love experimenting with food and whatever they served us were damn good! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves sea food, and even to...
