Undoubtedly one of the best Goan restaurants that I’ve visited. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the food served here. Coming to the ambience- It’s a compact place , decorated with subtle lighting and simple interiors, set within the owner’s home premises. To reach one has to follow maps well , since it’s a home in a village area, off the main road, it might be easy to miss the place. We visited for lunch and had an array of dishes, most of which were suggested by the owner of restaurant. They helped us in choosing the dishes, suggesting which combinations go better and were quite friendly. Overall the service was really good. Coming to the food items we tried- here they go - Starter - Sanna , Chicken Chilli Fry(Goan Masala) Main Course - Goan Bread , Crab Goan Masala Curry Dessert - Serradura And I must say , each and every dish were delectable - The Sanna, which looked similar to an idli, was made of fermented rice batter and coconut. It was soft, fluffy and the slight sweetness in it made it taste even better when had with the spicy goan masala chicken chilli. Bread was again very soft and the texture was good too. Crab curry - yet another great dish, every bit of which tasted awesome. The crab meat tasted great and we felt the spice mix in curry was very appropriate. Despite not being a fan of spicy food I liked this wholeheartedly. This was spicy yes, but it didn’t make me feel like my stomach is on fire, like it happens with spicy dishes often!! Last but not the least the milk pudding based dessert with a base a top layer of cookie crumbs - Serradura, commendable as well. All said, being a foodie, I would love to revisit ‘Bhatti Village’ any number of times.

An Authentic Goan Culinary Treasure – Bhatti Village, Nerul If you’re craving truly authentic, home-style Goan food, Bhatti Village Family Bar & Restaurant in Nerul is the place to be. This hidden gem is a home-run business, set in a charming traditional Goan house, complete with a rustic Feni Bhatti (distillery) theme that adds to its warm, nostalgic vibe. Every dish here is a celebration of Goan heritage. From the first bite to the last, the flavors are rich, soulful, and unforgettable. The recipes are traditional, the portions generous, and the preparation — simply out of this world. You’ll find yourself licking your fingers and planning your next visit before you’re even done with your meal. It’s not just the savory dishes that shine — the desserts are equally impressive and totally unique. Each one feels like a sweet secret passed down through generations. Bhatti Village isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a culinary experience steeped in culture, passion, and authenticity. A trip to Goa is incomplete without a meal here. Do yourself a favor — don’t miss this place!

Visited this family run authentic Goan-cuisine restaurant, located in the bylanes of Nerul. Limited cover restaurant, so go early on weekends. Ordered their speciality signature dishes, as follows: Drinks: Local feni. Starters: 'Motiaye' (white bait), fish roe, & 'clam sukha with poi' (local bread) - all 3 very highly recommended dishes! Entrée: Paya (mutton trotter) soup - awesome. Mutton beja (brain) fry, with chapati- super duper!! 'Tender coconut chilli fry' - a must try veg dish. Dessert: Caramel custard - typically Goan. Note: Been going to this cosy (quaint) restaurant for the last 20 years; now being handled by the next gen (son Royston); his mother being the great Chef. Drive to the restaurant is via a very narrow road, and Parking can be quite a pain; park beyond the restaurant alongside the narrow road. I suggest that here, you must try out their Signature / Speciality dishes, which may not be found else where!

Overpriced. Horrible customer service. Average food.

We went here based on the reviews, everything sounded too good. Here is a rundown of our experience.

My wife and I, along with another 4 friends (who were to join us a little later) decided to dine here. My wife and I landed up earlier and asked for a table for 6. We sat for a while, while the owner, his son (I'm assuming) and another staff member were running around attending to other customers. Now here is where it all starts getting weird. No one, and I mean none of the 3 men who were running around, bothered to attend to us after we were seated. So after some 10 minutes I drew the attention of the staff member and told him that we would like to order. He went and conveyed the same to the son, who did not bother to attend to us. Another 10 minutes went by, and I drew the owners attention and mentioned that we would like to place our order. He said he would come to us in a minute. Half an hour went by while we were left ignored. This is fine, as I have a lot of patience, and they were attending to other tables.

Suddenly a group of some 8 odd people enter, the owner sits them down and starts taking their order. Either the guests were some influential people, or known to the owner. This is when I walk up to him and told him that we were waiting for 30 minutes and the least he could do was acknowledge our presence and attend to us. He attitude was very dismissive, he did not bother to listen to what I had to say, and told me that my friends had not arrived hence he was not attending to us. Anyway, my friends arrived right then and we decided to stay, instead of walking away, as we had never dined here before.

The food was okay, nothing great. You can get the same taste and better experience in many other local restaurants in Goa.

The bill was way over the top. It was around INR 1000/person, and we did not even drink a lot of alcohol. Quite a lousy experience, especially due to the fact that the owner did not really care about...

In simple terms our experience was average. My group of 6 friends and I visited this acclaimed restaurant to taste for authentic goan cuisine. And out experience was the following (on a scale of 1-10)

Time period: Dec 2021

Food Taste: 6 (was not impressed by the taste and only emptied my plate thinking "this might be another take on goan cuisine which I am not accustomed to", had it been a regular resturant - I would have returned the orders. please note, the group was spread out from across the india and we are accustomed to new tastes and cuisines all over india)

Food Portions: 8 Portions were adequate

Food Presentation: 6 No presentation, simple

Ambience: 6 More like a home cooked mess feel, not a resturant, sitting area was small, hand wash and other amenities were also small.

Prices: 5 Worst part were the prices. They charged the same as decent restaurants do in goa - which in my opinion doesnt match with food and service.

Behaviour: 5 The hosts talked a great deal about their famous food - but none of my friends or myself found it worth the hype (please note, the group was spread out from across the india and we are accustomed to new tastes and cuisines all over india). The host's parents got really agressive when we tried to take a picture of the bill and menu for keepsake. Really didnt appreciate the last bit.

Overall Experience: 6/10 ( Average while...
