Had high expectations of this place when visiting. These high expectations were shattered the moment I got in. The hotel looked very shabby, untidy and unkempt. There were no AC rooms available, nor were there seats available for more than 4 people on a table. Being a family of 5, we had to grudgingly adjust and sit with other people. At a glance, the kitchen looked unclean. The food seemed to be prepared unhygienically However, not judging the place by its looks, we decided to order. We ordered one plate jeera rice and dal tadka and one onion uthappa. The plate which was served to me contained A BUG. We asked the waiter to replace the plate, who just took it to the kitchen and wiped off the bug and gave it back to us, instead of giving a new plate. Upon further insistence, he finally gave a new plate. Saying the food was an abomination, is an understatement. The onion uthappa was tasteless and the jeera rice had more jeera than rice. The pathetic excuse of a dal tadka they prepared, was horrible. Overall, the food as well as the atmosphere of the place was pathetic. I was appalled by how little thought was put into the satisfaction of the customer. STRONGLY RECOMMEND not to come here ever. Absolutely disgusting place with...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Goa this was the first place where I had breakfast. The experience was so pathetic 😥!!
I tried the bhaji pav. The food was okayish!!
But what made me question my choice was the way the waiters behaved. They behaved as if they had no interest to take order 🤨!!
I wanted to order something else after the bhaji pav but they kept delaying to come to my table even after constant requests (the place wasn’t busy either) 😒!!
So we decided to pay the bill and leave. We then later ended up having more food at a nearby restaurant. In a place like Goa which is famous for pub hopping, we were food hopping 🍺🙃!!
I can tolerate the idea of food being not good or up to the mark. But poor customer service is something all restaurants should avoid 😬!!
It’s not like we’re compromising good food and good customer service for fair price. I’ve been to cheaper restaurants where the food and the service were both good 🙄!!
We travellers don’t deserve to be treated like this especially after a long and tiring...
Read moreWe recently visited an Udupi-style restaurant near the Panaji Bus Stand and had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious, with authentic flavors and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone who enjoys tasty vegetarian meals at affordable prices.
While traditionally known for South Indian cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant also serves a good variety of Maharashtrian and Punjabi vegetarian dishes. The quality and taste of these dishes were excellent and added a nice regional touch to the menu.
Vegetarian options may not be extremely extensive, but what’s available is well-prepared and flavorful. The service is quick, and the place maintains good hygiene standards.
If you're in or around the Panaji Bus Stand and looking for a clean, budget-friendly veg restaurant with a mix of South Indian, Maharashtrian, and Punjabi flavors — this Udupi hotel is worth...
