Urban Nawab — Restaurant in Goa

We found this lovely restaurant Urban Nawab on the way to Vagator hill viewpoint. The restaurant is nestled in nature, under the shade of big mango trees. You definitely won't miss this place while traveling on the Anjuna-Mapusa-Chapora road. The restaurant has dedicated parking that can accommodate at least 5 four-wheelers. The owners are super friendly and really know how to treat their guests well. The staff here too are super polite and know the menu well. The restaurant is a pet-friendly restaurant. The seating is super comfortable. You can choose to sit on the entrance side or in the interior section which is dimly lit with beautiful lampshades and a wall with a lovely Portuguese Goan era caricature painting. This restaurant is a non-ac but the natural breeze and coolers make up for it. Here's what we tried at Urban Nawab:

Drinks: Watermelon Juice Orange Juice The juices were super fresh and served with a bit of pulp of the fruit. We loved it as it was super healthy and was perfect for the hot summer weather.

Soups: Lemon Corriander Soup Tomyum Soup The soups were flavorful and the quantity was sufficient for 2 people. Our favorite was the Lemon coriander soup. It had a refreshing lemon flavor and was filled with veggies like carrots, broccoli, coriander, and more. The tomyum was lovely too if you love spice. It was a spicy and tangy soup with chicken and mushroom pieces. Both are a must-try here.

Food: Koliwada Chicken Vegetable Chilly Plum Sauce Gai Sai Takrai Mutton Rogan Josh Naan

The food at urban nawab is like non-other. We haven't come across such unique and distinct flavors. The Koliwada chicken was crispy and had good spices which paired perfectly with the green chutney and spicy onion rings served along with it. Our favorite and must-try dish is the vegetable chilly plum sauce. It was on the sweeter side with the sauce but had a few hints of spice. The vegetable was coated crispy which just melted in the mouth with the sauce. The Gai Sai Takrai too is another must-try! Super juicy and such a lovely presentation. That's what we loved about urban nawab, not only did everything look good but tasted as good too! If you are a fan of the mutton then The Mutton Rogan Josh is the dish for you. I guess even if you don't like mutton urban nawabs preparation will change that for you. Super delicious with fresh tender meat! We ate this with the Urban Nawabs' wide range of naans. You can choose from cheesy, bajra, paratha and much more.

Dessert: Gulab Jamun The best way to end the meal. We never say no to dessert and urban nawab did not fail to please with their 3 piece gulab jamun.

Overall we do recommend trying this place out for an experience of unique flavor and a fun meal with friends or family. Our time spent here was super fun and we lost track of time enjoying the food and music. Sangeeta is a super fun host who definitely will make your meal enjoyable. If there is 0 star, I'd give 0. I order a "butter chick boneless" dish and asked if it's a starter, the waiter nodded but brought out a main course. When i told him i didn't order a main course but a starter (even i ensured it's a starter). The whole argument started as the waiter asserted me that i didn't enquired him about the dish as a starter or maincourse. May be he didn't properly listen to me or not, Mistakes happen, miscommunication happens but the restaurant's attitude towards the situation is the worst.

They started arguing like it's not their fault. Extremely rude staffs, all the staffs are rude . The owner didn't even question the waiter about the situation and he started shouting at me like its my fault of not being aware of a started or main course. Poor attitude. Terrible restaurant. Don't fall for the high reviews here, i found an another review with 3 dead mosquitoes in a customer's food, the high reviews must be fake and manipulative. Terrible place which can ruin your day. So the menu is digital, scan it....The first option is Combo...order it and you will find out that it's Take Away only!!! Strange, isn't it? You can take it away but can't eat? So why not advert it is Take Away Combo?

Mint Chutney is chargeable per 100gms....been to thousands of restuarants in my life this is so far the first to sell Chutney with food!!! Strange and laughable too at the same time..

I ordered one Combo and when they said it's take away only, i told okay we will eat some place different, then they mellowed down and said, we can try and accomodate and after that Chutney Bomb 💣 exploded on us...

This review is before eating food and just after knowing their terms & conditions....but it's hilarious to see some restaurant selling Chutney as side dish 😂
