Extremely Disappointed with the Service and Food at Workshop Restaurant
We recently visited Workshop Restaurant for dinner as a group of seven and had a truly disappointing experience. While we ordered a variety of dishes, the quality of the food and the service left a lot to be desired.
One of the biggest issues was the roti—it was cold and undercooked. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, instead of handling the concern professionally, the waiter started arguing with us. He didn’t apologize or even offer to replace it. Instead, his response was a blunt and rude: “This is what you will get.”
This level of arrogance and lack of basic courtesy is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. A good restaurant should value customer feedback and be willing to correct mistakes, but instead, we were met with ego and attitude. Even though we were one of the biggest groups dining there that night, there was zero effort made to ensure we had a good experience.
Despite the poor quality food and rude service, we were still charged the full amount. No compensation, no goodwill gesture—just an outright refusal to acknowledge any fault. The least we expected was some professionalism and basic hospitality, but unfortunately, that was missing entirely.
I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but this experience was just too disappointing to ignore. A restaurant is not just about food—it’s about how you treat your customers, and Workshop Restaurant failed miserably in that aspect. If this is how they handle genuine feedback, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
I did read your response.
But “Wow. Your response just proves exactly why our experience was so disappointing. Instead of addressing the actual issue—your staff’s rude behavior—you’ve chosen to deflect, make baseless accusations, and act as if our genuine feedback is some sort of conspiracy. That’s not just unprofessional, it’s outright embarrassing for a business.
Let’s be clear: this was NEVER about money or compensation. We spent our hard-earned money at your establishment expecting basic courtesy, and instead, we were treated with rudeness and disrespect. When customers bring up concerns about your staff’s behavior, the correct response is to acknowledge and address the issue—not double down with arrogance and condescension.
Your dismissive attitude and inability to take criticism show exactly what kind of business you’re running. No amount of fake politeness in your response can cover up the lack of professionalism you’ve just displayed for everyone to see. Instead of implying that multiple people had the same complaint because of some agenda, maybe ask yourself why multiple people had the same bad experience in the first place.
If this is how you handle feedback, I can only imagine how many other people you’ve treated poorly and ignored. Thank you for confirming that avoiding your establishment in the future is the right choice.”

🌟 Final Take
Workshop delivers a standout dining experience in Panjim—fresh, well‑presented Goan-centric dishes in an inviting river‑view setting. The occasional minor drawbacks (e.g., slower service on busy nights or a rare bland thali) seem easily outweighed by its consistent strengths. I’d recommend it as a must-visit, especially for fish thalis or fusion starters, with a reminder to book ahead and perhaps visit on a weekday to avoid...
Read moreReally disappointed with the service , food and lack of customer service skills by the manager. We ordered the coriander chicken on the recommendation of the server which was really spicy and filled with green chillies. So bad that we asked for honey and my aunts eyes and nose were watering. At this point it might’ve been a spicy dish so we let it go. We didn’t want to try anything new so we ordered a safe option, butter chicken and burnt garlic fried rice . Which they royally managed to mess up. There was no burnt garlic flavour at all in the rice and the butter chicken was one of the worst I’ve ever had. My aunt who accompanied me has been a restaurateur herself and told the manager what is exactly wrong with the dish and to please replace it with any other dish that the chef can make really well. Instead we received the exact same butter chicken with a lot of cream shoved in it in a matter of 5 mins. Just so you know you did not salvage anything it still tasted bad. At this point we just let it go cause clearly they don’t care . Adding to this, when the plates were replaced from the starter, the server did not replace our spoons and forks . We were calling out and nobody came. My aunt had given up and started eating with the serving spoon and me with the small dessert spoon that came with the honey. The server had an attitude and excuse to justify everything we complained about until my aunt had to raise her voice to call the manager. He also said he was busy with other tables. No customer wants to hear that. To the manager, you need to know your job. When it was clearly asked to replace the butter chicken with another dish, you should’ve. Giving us complimentary ice cream, does not make up for the whole mess of an evening and does not save you...
