Tanvi Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

Hi... I'm from Porvorim, hd seen this place whenever I passed from there. After watching this video I thought of visiting this place today Friday, 22nd Oct. 2025, with my daughter's for lunch. When asked for menu owner said apart from normal thali items there wud be tisryo n ambottik in special thali. So ordered for 1 special kingfish thali, boneless chicken biryani, chicken 65 n lime soda. For 50 mins we waited for food to come. 20 mins he took to serve Lime soda. The food was disgusting. The kingfish special thali ( rice, prawns curry, 1 bhaji, dried prawns kismoor, dried prawns sweet gravy, solkadi, gulab jamun, salad, pickle) Prawns curry wit only 1 prawn n 2 big tomato pcs, was watery wit no taste. Kingfish fry hd no proper masala no salt. Dried prawns wit tomato n onion gravy which was very sweet🤢, dried prawns kismoor tasteless. The tisryo n ambottik was not served when asked the owner answered arogantly that he wud parcel n gv. I didn't tk it. but he charged me special thali rate ₹400/- which I paid for leaving thali as it is without eating. Biryani n chicken 65 too was on sweeter side. Total bill paid was ₹ 1,030/- for that disgusting food. I told owner food was disgusting, he didn't care as he wants to make money n there were other 1-2 customers who too complained abt food. So requesting people not to visit this place n waste ur time n money which we did.

Don't deserve even 1 star. If dere were no star review i would prefer that for Tanvi bar & restaurant. Don't dare n...

Please read entire review. The first half of this review was written when I had visited it the first time 2 years ago. After that the place has just been disappointing.

Fresh fish, excellent marination and flavourful curry! A small home run local restaurant that serves authentic Goan fish. No pretentious presentation just simple home cooked fish thali. Must try their rawa fried preparations of fish or prawns. Squids were also cooked to perfection in a rich creamy garlic sauce. One of the best fish thali I have had in goa. I really liked the simple seating and semi open casual dining space. However the exhaust fan which they keep on for obvious ventilation reasons makes a very loud irritating noise. Other than that nothing to complain about.

Edit - I have found this restaurant extremely inconsistent. Sometimes the food is equally bad. Out of the 4 times I visited it. It was extremely good the first time and then it was just a downward spiral. The restaurant attracts many customers so they can easily drop the act of being poor and upgrade the ambience a bit and also the quality of their fish.
